TV has been a wasteland since the History and Science channel sold out to reality shows

But, the internet has some great podcasts

Practical Engineering with Brady is excellent

Oroville spillway collapse became a very tense drama when the emergency spillway also collapsed
and the entire dam almost came down from the erosion tearing apart the earth dam

Lots of hard decisions made over a few sleepless days as experts from around the world tried
save the dam, some of those decisions were mistakes they got away with

They should have just kept the spillway open in spite of collapse because the emergency spillway
was not built on solid rock so it gave way as soon as it overflowed but hindsight is always perfect

Engineering mistakes in the design caused both spillways to fail

Brady is great at explaining in a way non engineers can understand.
He is engineerings' Neil Degrasse Tyson bringing engineering to the masses

Bill Hammack- think PBS style college professor - but excellent Youtube episodes.

Road Guy Rob.
He has a masters in transportation engineering, but paid the exetended schooling bills working as a DJ, so knows how to speak like a layman, not a nerd.

Nigel does some real quirky chemistry stuff.
And Canada based, so not so entangled in US war on science as to supplies to do the stuff he does.

Just watched why the ISS space station is going to be crashed
into the ocean in 2030. Should be a good show if it happens at night
