I was lucky enough to see "slim" Elvis live when he was in residence at the Las Vegas Hilton, back in the very early 70's.

James Burton on lead guitar, and as musical director. An amazing show!

Anybody else here see Elvis live?

it wasnt long after this that Elvis died...upon hearing this the 1st time on You Tube..validated by belief that he could really sing....his most powerful stuff was the Gospel songs he recorded imo

One of the best voices ever, I know they call Sinatra the Voice but Elvis was special.

As a young singer he grew up singing gospel songs. As an old fart, I remember seeing him on the old Ed Sullivan show on tv. He had all the moves and vibrations back then but the tv broadcast only showed him from the waist up. My mother actually saw him perform live in Maple Leaf Gardens in 1957, the first and only time he played in Canada. Of course she fell in love with him LOL
