I am 5'8" and haven't really noticed or thought much about how height affects initial attraction of females until cute-blad and hyperdog's threads about heights... so I am told that my height is actually 1" below average Canadian male, so I would like to try elevator shoes to see if it makes any marked difference in my game.
Can anyone suggest retailers in / near GTA that specialize in these?

I'm afraid that is only a temporary solution because once you have to take off the shoes, your true height will be revealed. Furthermore, people will notice you are wearing lifts unless they are less than 2 inches. But if you just want to find out if adding an inch or two will create better initial impressions, then you have nothing to lose.

I suggested it in the other thread as a scientific experiment for the cute bald guy. I would have thought it a useful experiment to try out before embarking on the bone lengthening procedure. Afterall, CB is complaining that women will not give him a second look, JUST because he is short. With platform shoes that theory can be either confirmed or discarded.

I know, once you are in bedroom witht he girl you'll have to take shoes off lol! All I want is to see if the percentage of girls passing my hook point will increase with elevator shoes. Once you spent enough time with a girl (initial conversation + day2) I can usually escalate from there without much rejection even 9s and 10s makes no difference from fat girls for my personal experience. The difficult part is usually get the initial attraction for 9s and 10s to spend enough 10 minutes with you. I want to see if height increase can make any difference.

There are some girls, namely those that like tall guys, that would not stop to talk to you for 10 minutes but would if they think you are 5'11. Indeed, the lifts will give you that much. But those 10 minutes that you wheedled with your lifts would not lead to much once they find out about those lifts, which will inevitably happen if they spend more time with you. But this is only true with those girls.

You'll end up making an ass of yourself.

Even Bono - who I think is a great singer, is only 5-6 apparently and quite sensitive about his height. He's always wearing these damn elevator shoes (and Edge is wearing a touque in July because he's bald and sensitive about that).

Those lifts of Bono's are way too obvious. But look at Tom Cruise's much less obvious elevator shoes:

Women may not notice for the first hour or so, but when you look closely you can see the top of his feet rising like a hill. It's pretty obvious that he has about 2 inch lifts.

I think lifts are unnoticeable only when it is about 1 inch or less. I'm considering wearing getting half-inch lifts (yes I managed to find a place that sells them: http://shop.1asecure.com/prodindex.cfm?StID=9648), just to know what it feels like to be exactly 6'4". I'm sure wearing half-inch lifts will not be noticeable, even when I take off the shoes and people see my barefoot height.

Have you considered just spiking your hair or wearing an afro?

To me, height is not an issue of where the top of your head it, but where your eye-level is. After all, when a woman meets you, she looks at your eyes not the top of your head.

Go to Walktallshoes.com. They are out of Mississauga. The shoes combine some of the lift in the outer heel & some hiden inside the shoe just like Tom Cruise. They also sell the Walk Tall shoes at the store Star Shoes at Cloverdale Mall in Etobickoke BUT limited selection. Cheaper to buy on line. Total of 2.6". You cannot get anything higher without looking rediculous. 2.6" add a little bit BUT is not going to be much of a change to see how people react to you. NOW I am scheduled for late October to get L.L. 4" . Go from 5'5" to 5'9" + wear shoes 2.6" = 5'11.6". I know from many buddies 5'10"- 5'11" that I will get much more responce when not seen as the SHORT GUY!

Those shoes make you 2.6 inches taller, but that includes the heels. Since regular shoes have about 1 inch heels, then those elevator shoes will make you look 1.6 inches taller compared to people wearing regular shoes. In general, for all elevator shoes, subtract one inch from the claimed height increase they give since they always include the outer heels with that number.

But if you buy just the lifts and put them in your shoes (and disguise them so that no one will see them even when you take off the shoes), then the height of those lifts is exactly the extra height you will seem taller by. Just to clarify, I am 6'3.5" barefoot height. On regular shoes, I am 6'4.5" but people will still think I'm 6'3.5" because I'm wearing shoes. On regular shoes + 1/2" lift inside, I am 6'5" and people will think I'm 6'4".

So it will take me from 5'8" to 5'10.6" should be enough to notice responses from ladies you think?
Actually, people will think you are 5'9.6" wearing regular shoes (assuming you've succeeded in disguising them). Read my above post. If you want to appear 2.5 inches taller, then you would have to get 3.5" elevator shoes, and people will certainly notice them. You starting to see how elevator shoes are not a proper solution?

Zardoz those shoes are ok BUT 2" is not going to make much diff. It helps. If you are that interested, save up $$ & go get 4" L.L. That is significant. 1 guys suggested i get 4" lifts to try BUT that looks so rediculous people WILL be noticing BUT for the wrong reason!!!

That's true. When the lifts are so high, you will walk like a lady on high heels. Your very gait will make you look gay. As far as I can see, if you want to be 2 or more inches taller, LL is the only reasonable way.

Man, don't wear lifts, they are horrible. You become addicted to them, you stop doing activities where your shoes need to be removed (beach, friends house, etc...) because you know that people will notice a 2" drop in your height. I should know, I wore them for 15 years. If I did go to a house party, I would try and hide my shoes in case someone looked down in them. I also sat down a lot. Once, someone needed shoes quickly and slipped mine on to run outside for a sec, I am sure they noticed but did not say anything. I also used to put insoles at the heal of my shoes. I would have about 4 or 5 cut insoles to give me added height in each shoe. Once, my 4 year old nephew was playing with my shoes while I was outside. When I came in the house, there were 10 cut insoles scattered on the floor (LMAO while I type this). Thank Fing God no one saw. I remember quickly picking them up and stuffing them in my pockets before anyone saw. Lifts are just a downward spiral and I really advise against using them. They are horrible for you.
Oh Yeah, as HD says, they make you walk like a gay. (Raises your ass in the air like a rhesus monkey in heat, See image 1 below).
