Energy systems (conventional/unconventional) are the next wave to hit this field...so I have heard...

in fact out West they are looking for Project Managers for new windmill sites and distribution and installation of alternate power sources.

The smallest is always at the leading edge, making circuits smaller and smaller. And batteries are always of interest.

I would say wireless technologies such as RFID, wireless transmission of power (no more power cords!), and spread spectrum RF, just to name a few.

See TESLA for info:D

Papasmerf is right again. N. Tesla's dream was the wireless distribution of power.
And all he got was a Standard Unit of Measurment, nammed after him. The Tesla.

By the way I suppose the favorite Standard of Measurement for terbites is
"the Siemen":D

....and the Tesla coil!

engineers are bizarre creatures. party like there's no tomorrow in college, then become THE lamest, most uptight, boring, starched, plaid-shirt wearing workaholic dudes once they start working. what's the story there?
