The old battery might be Nickel Cadmium or one of the other previously popular type battery. The ones used now a days are Lithium. I use to rebuild my power drill batteries. Most of the time I would buy new batteries on sale at the big box hardware stores for $10, these were discontinued power drill batteries that had the same batteries inside that I needed for really old power drill pack. I just swapped out the insides and the drill was good for another 5 to 7 years. The e-bike batteries can be rebuilt the same way. You can get lithium batteries from electronics store.Canadian Tire is advertising a sale on eBikes. Any one here have experience with them?
A friend bought one several years and the battery died after 2 years. Now he can't get a replacement battery because his bike only takes a 24 and they don't make 24's anymore.
