No. What happens is that the second layer has a higher error rate because it's behind the first layer. What you're describing sounds like a software/firmware problem. That's what I usually do, with CloneDVD. Don't plan on backing up on DL discs until the prices come down more.Gentle Ben said:split the original dvd into 2 , just like the old days of VHS tapes, part way through the movuie you change discs.
