Sorry but I don't quite get your issue: you get too many cancellations, you are overwhelmed with phone calls, and you have been able to fill your quota. Sorry the process can't be easier for you, but that's what it takes to operate in this business.

This is a tricky environment in which to do business. From the ladies' perspective, it's virtually impossible to collect a deposit to help ensure appointments will be kept. It's hand over your cash once you get here, not many are likely to give a credit card number for the deposit. For the guys, it's "gee, I'm feeling horny and should have some time available in my schedule to see someone, let's check TERB or BP to see who's available when. Okay, Suzi Q looks good and I think I can make 4:30 tomorrow with , so I'll book." But then tomorrow comes and something changes, either my schedule changes, or I had time to do more research on Suzi Q and found she may not be to my liking, or I've decided that I'm not really horny enough now that with my $35 per hour job I don't want to spend 5 hours of my labour to be with Suzi Q for 1 hour.
This is the nature of the business and that's why there will always be cancellations, it's something the ladies need to deal with.

So since I think this might be related, I'm going to tack this question on here.
I've heard it said a few times from SPs that Durham guys are cheap. Always trying to negotiate price and whatnot. My question is - have we had it too GOOD in Durham when it comes to pricing? I've gotta say that if I see a price over $120/hh, I have to think really, really hard about it before booking. $140 for a half? Sounds crazy to me sometimes, even for reputable providers. And please, ladies, don't interpret that as me thinking you're not worth it. It's that for years the norm in Durham has been $100/hh, $80/hh if you're a newbie, $120/hh if you're bold and/or have a good rep. I'm just used to it.
Nowadays, it's seeming more and more like $120 is the new $80! But to be realistic, as prices of hotels and travel rise, the cost of SPing is gonna have to rise with it. And maybe some of us, myself included, are having trouble adjusting for inflation.

Durham was always cheaper than the rates in the city, the reasons were there and they were valid as the cost of doing business here was less than what the city agencies and indies paid. That being said, we had a vibrant scene here and the agencies, SR/SS and HG did a booming business and had a decent stable of ladies and the indies were doing well themselves. Times were good.
Rates did rise here, but the agencies were gone and our indies dwindled, the quality of ladies coming in, with the exception of a few, were awful. Cite many reasons here like quality of service for rates paid, reliability, not being able to shower, pay for 30 mins and getting far less, etc....We've all been through it.
As far as guys trying to bargain rates. That is not something that is endemic only to the Durham area, that happens all over the GTA, the province, Canada...you get the picture.
I know that reading the whole thread is not something that you want to do, so I will cut to the chase. It is a lament on the old days, when Durham had a very vibrant scene, with two good agencies SS/SR and HG and many good indies. You didn't have to go to York, Toronto or the airport area to find good agencies or indies, we had them here. There wasn't much at issue here, the agencies conducted themselves well as did the indies.

Certainly fair, Dirk, and don't worry I've been tracking this thread since the beginning and I totally agree - Durham's a hole. I think I'm sort of playing devil's advocate here so we don't get too "woe is me" about it, which in my experience causes complacency. We may need to change our attitudes in order to change Durham.

No woe is me here Jack, what happened to Durham is we lost one very good agency SS/SR and a good second in HG. Our good number of indies have diminished as most of these ladies lead good private lives with real civilian jobs. This happened quite some time ago and the lament is not only for the good old days, forget the rates, but more to the fact that there has really been nothing to fill this void agencywise and to a lesser extent indies, as there are still a few good ones, but that number is low. I think that we the consumer can shoulder some of the blame here after our downfall of having such good choice I started hobbying in the City and the prices associated there. When Durham finally came alive with a vibrant scene of its own I hobbied here and enjoyed the cheaper rates, but there was a difference in quality of accommodation. They were busy and times were good. When some ladies came into town they adjusted their rates, many wouldn't come because they would not accommodate this decrease in their rate structure. As the cost of business went up, ladies raised their rates and guys bitched. Those guys have probably never hobbied in the City and spent time and money on travel and parking, plus regular Toronto rates. Or, they travel to Durham and that's as far as they can go without their SO getting suspicious. Whatever it is, we can shoulder some of the blame.
The bad providers are all over the place, that is part and parcel in this game, but it's sites like this that help the brethren out in making smarter choices so as to avoid the dead fish, pimps and druggies.

Dirk - if I'm interpreting you correctly, you might be talking about a time before I got on the scene, which according to Terb was 7 years ago, so you probably have a leg up on me in terms of what you've watched evolve over the years. I think these glory years you're referring to were actually around when I got into the hobby, but I was exclusive to MPs until all of 3 years ago, so I didn't pay as close attention to the goings on of the Durham SP circuit so I can't say for sure. I think we've had a good discussion here and won't push back anymore. I have faith that we will find a wealth of quality in Durham one day, and soon, regardless of the cause. Balances shift all the time - we'll get the balance back in our favour soon enough.

Heidi, this is how this work in life. If you want good quality, then you have to pay for it. I know that. Quality comes at a price. Nothing is free. And that's the case in your business too. I have yet to see you for a session - maybe I will get around to it one day. But you charge your rate to cover costs and for the quality service you provide. Never seen Charlottee either. But I assume the same principle applies.
How many times have we guys cut corners with less expensive providers only to kick ourselves afterwards when we could have added a few more $$$ and had a better experience. I know I have. And as cash becomes scarcer we need to support the good and better ladies in the area who have 'invested' their time and effort (so to speak) in building the area up.
I have to side with Charlotte and Heidi here on rates. If you want to see a quality lady, that doesn't overbook, in a nice setting, the rate will be what the lady set it at. The good hotels are no cheaper than the city and they can command that rate and get the business elsewhere, so if you guys want high end girls, then the rate will be there too, without the extra expense and time involved with traveling to the city.
