First time seeing them. Scared the shit out of me when the plow ahead of me swung his ass end into the other lane. It's a violent transition. Almost looked like he was spinning out. Must take some skill to drive.

Are these things new around here?

are you talking about the wing on a snow plow? Maybe he had it down (that's the blade that when up, is on the side of the truck) never heard of a dual lane plow, but maybe they are new?

I saw them driving from New Brunswick to Toronto. They have a trailer with some type of liquid to melt the snow, but a blade that plows the curb and guard rails. You cant pass them because they are actually almost taking up two lanes. The truckers all passed them (crazy), but us that drove passenger cars were too chicken shit to pass them. When they hit the guard rails, the back part actually kicks back and it looks like they are going to hit you. Took them an hour driving 30 km an hour on a major highway before they finally turned off the highway. First time I've ever seen them.

Freaked my freak!

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. It's a sort of trailer with an additional blade and a tank apparently full of the liquid you mentioned. The plows I saw weren't clearing guard rails though; they were clearing two lanes a piece. It's pretty freaky how violently the trailer adjusts side to side, especially when you've never seen one before!
