Horrifically bad Russian driving.
Horrifically bad Russian driving.
Short answer is no.I think it is a combination of inexperienced drivers, drunk drivers, and bad roads and conditions that make Russian drivers so dangerous.
I wonder why there are so many luxury cars in these videos, are all those cars the ones that disappear from North American streets and get shipped over there in containers?
I think so, yes.I think it is a combination of inexperienced drivers, drunk drivers, and bad roads and conditions that make Russian drivers so dangerous.

This is very true. Anything American is despised. To understand these accidents you have to drive in Russia, the roads are atrocious, the traffic is ridiculous. You hate being stuck on QEW for an hour? Try being stuck in a trafic for an hour just to make a right turn 100 feet away. It is that bad. I almost missed my plane due to this bs, leaving 4 hours beforehand.Short answer is no.
And by the way Russians loathe American cars, American fashion and pretty much everything American - except US dollars, and maybe movies and iphones. The car is supposed to be German, the watch is supposed to be Swiss, the wardrobe is supposed to be Italian, the woman is supposed to be Russian.
Perhaps it has changed now that there are far more Americans, but when I was there more, Russians were facinated by living, breathing Americans or Canadians and just loved to talk and ask questions. And by the way Russians loathe American cars, American fashion and pretty much everything American - except US dollars, and maybe movies and iphones.
The majority of these videos are from the Moscow and Saint-Petersburg areas. They not only are they by far the two largest cities in Russia, but also the wealthiest areas with the heaviest traffic etc. . . You are absolutely correct about those two cities, however, not really about places like Ekaterinburg,Yoshkar-Ola, or Rostov on Don.You hate being stuck on QEW for an hour? these days are long gone...this is how they see expats nowPerhaps it has changed now that there are far more Americans, but when I was there more, Russians were facinated by living, breathing Americans or Canadians and just loved to talk and ask questions.
If you are saying that less advanced or informed Russians might still treat foreigners as exotic creatures, I am not disputing that. I am saying that Russians who have met foreigners (and especially Russians from rich cities) generally don't hold foreigners in high regard. Foreign men are seen as sex-starved wimps, and foreign women are seen as useless fat ass feminists.I'm not sure I'd treat The Exile as the sine qua non of things Russian to put it mildly. Further, Moscow vastly more than Saint-Petersburg is not really Russia.
This is the reverse of the coin of "all Russian men are drunks."If you are saying that less advanced or informed Russians might still treat foreigners as exotic creatures, I am not disputing that.
