The one near me is closed for the winter . I'll will be interesting to see if they open up for the summer . I kind doubt it . Personally I'd rather set on my fat ass on the couch and watch Netflix or rent a movie . LOL. Less people to deal with .

There's one @ 15 minutes from my house. Been a while since I've gone there ..... hopefully it opens in May as planned.

Appears to have opened up on schedule. How is being in your own car not distancing?

Because they get out of them, let their kids run around. Group socialize.

If you're ever in the Gravenhurst area. It's not open yet.

We went to it many, many years ago before they would broadcast over your car radio. You would hang a speaker from your car window. The trouble is your car would be full of mosquitoes within minutes. The locals would take screen mesh and tape it over the open window.

LOL. The last movie I watched at a drive in was The Dark Knight. The pic quality was so poor I couldn't make out anything. Basically the pic was just shadows moving across the screen. We ended up leaving 30mins into the film even though I paid for a double feature

Drive-in are usually on the outskirts of town, fenced in by cedar hedges. Mosquito heaven ! I only know of two, Ciné-Parc Templeton Drive-In near the Gatineau Airport and another Skylight Drive-In near Pembroke. I can't remember the last movie I saw, but I know I was at Templeton within 10 years. Mosquitos were bad !

Back in the 70's in a small town near Elliot lake , the drive-in was near the river and sometimes the fog would roll in and that would be in for movie night ..

There are 16 drive in theaters left in Ontario. Must be 1 near you?
That's a lot. I think that's far more than any U.S. region.

The U.S. drive-ins kind of died off big time and in the last fifteen years or so have made a small comeback. I believe most of them now have licenses to sell beer and wine, but I presume most people bring their own.
