Population size/density especially with respect to NYC, a liberal stronghold with poor democrat leadership, high rates of obesity, and overall poor health of the populace through bad diet and sedentary lifestyle (that they’ve chosen to live). On top of that A LOT of Chinese immigrants and tourism bolstering the infection rate.
I lived in NYC for 8 years this is not really true. Despite tons of immigrants low crime per capita, lower obesity than the red states, higher income, etc etc. And it seemed it was the European visitors that drove the rates of covid. Not taking the Chinese govt off the hook, their dishonesty is one of the main factors creating the pandemic. But can't let the comment on NYC pass without comment.

Oh this is simply ignorant. Have you lived in NYC? I have (right in Manhattan). Try this for “logical” reasoning:
- NYC is (arguably) the financial center/centre for US (World) Financial markets
- NY area (counting bout JFK and EWR) receives hundreds of flights out of Europe everyday
- Europe had widespread circulation of the virus a few weeks before US east coast
- NYC is a dense urban area, where the community spread would be easier (than say farmland of Kansas or Manitoba)
- With the infection rate of this virus, it is little surprise that NYC has become the epicenter for US

Logical thinking will set you free. Blind adherence to the Orange Blob will not.

Thanks for re-stating exactly what I wrote but much more thoroughly. The member that wanted to know why MAGA nation has more covid than others in the world has his answer in full now.

On Sunday, Trump lashed out at the media on Twitter, calling for journalists to be sued and demanding they return their "Noble Prizes" for their work reporting on Russian interference in the 2016 US elections. He swiftly deleted the tweets. It's likely he misspelled Nobel, but the Nobel Prize is not awarded for works of journalism. He could have been thinking of the Pulitzer Prizes. He later tweeted again and asked, once again, whether sarcasm ever worked.
A damning critique of Orange Man. His re-election is doomed.

If only the US had a drama teacher in blackface to lead them thru these uncertain times. His logical thinking would set them all free!

Now, even I have to admit, that is funny!

I listened to him a few times at the start (for us in NA at least; say mid-March) of the current chaos, and quickly realized that he doesn’t say anything that is of substance. He just says things like: “We are looking into this” or “We are working on this” or “We hear you”! WTF?

Of the 3 P’s that I have had the opportunity to witness (up close and personal; from the vantage point of my wonderful brown leather chair) in the last 6-weeks, I must say I have been disappointed with 2: The President, and The Prime Minister. The Premier has surprised me. I would’ve never thought that I would come to admire a conservative brother of a coke-smoking former Premier. But, I do.

I watched the Imelda Marcos documentary on Netflix the other night.
The similarities between how Imelda and the President see themselves in only the best of light, as saviors of their people was amazing. It was sobering ( and revealing) to hear her talk about how she spoke with her good friends Muammar Khaddafi and Saddam Hussein (back in the day) as though these people were pillars of the international community.
Much the same way Putin and Kim Jong Un are within the President's preferred social circle.
Imelda believes she us the mother of the Philippines and that translated into an entitlement to drain the country's treasury.
The President is also fully convinced he is the salvation of America during Covid and as such he should be able to take a few liberties such as using his properties as venues for hosting government functions, events and temporary travel accommodations.
He is doing well in making a profit as the President. Not any different I suppose as the Clintons when they allowed Japanese businessmen to sleep in the Lincoln bedroom in the WH for $100K a night.
I guess that's how a former governor and president and his wife are worth billions.

Just remember political donations in the USA system of sanctioned bribery vs personal profits. Big difference.

Wow! This is an excellent line of thinking (one that hadn’t crossed my mid at all, yet). Now that you have said it, it doesn’t surprise me. To use one word: They are/were both narcissists.

Thanks SQYAD51 for pointing to the Imelda Marcos documentary - I will be sure to check it out.
