Downtown Office Space

Not a new office conversion, but one done pre COVID.
The old Imperial Oil office building in Toronto was converted to condo apartments.
A guy I know used to work there.
His former boss has bought one of the units.
It is right where his office was. The living room was where his desk once sat.
As to the current situation, the one feeling it the most IMO are the former shops in the PATH.
Lots of entrepreneurs used to seasonally lease there and now tons of these sorts of shops are shuttered.

Yes, I heard on the radio that there is a move to convert old surplus office space to residential use.
Also, there's a move to allow construction of muti-plexes as I mentioned in another thread.
"Hybrid" workers are becoming/already a permanent feature of our economy. This will, obviously, affect many sectors of our economy such as TTC, autos, need for gasoline, child care, etc. Also, less or no sexual misconduct in the office because you are not physically in the office but still be careful what you say on the phone/email/letters.
Question or maybe I'll do a poll: How many members are currently or would like to be a ":hybrid" worker?

I saw something during the COVID peak that may be a foreshadow of the future.
I saw two panhandlers fighting for their favourite spot on a deserted Yonge Street.
Some statutory holidays are statutorily required to fall on a Monday.

In my case I take some holidays on Mondays because I don't feel like working. LOL
yeah this isn't going to happen. You can't just convert office buildings into residential. It's easier just to tear the building down and start from scratch.
Tell that to the Tip Top building, the old sears whare house, lofts along queen east, condos in Parkdale
