It's fine to be proud of your country and being caucasian.
I disagree.
It is stupid to be proud of something you had no choice in. Ethnicity is something you have no choice in. Therefore, it's stupid to be proud of your ethnicity.
Pride in country is a little better because, as a democracy, we have some little say in how our country operates.

The article is obviously trying to draw a conclusion that because some of those people support him, that by that definition he's also like them.
The Fords have always embraced multiculturalism. Rob volunteered coaching teams that were predominately underprivileged black kids.
Considering Doug Ford has travelled the province meeting thousands of people, taken photographs with them, having their support, why zero in on a select few to draw that conclusion? Just because they support him?

I know why...because that's what people like you do when you don't get your way...you label people racists.

Weak.
Re read the article, especially the bits about the people chosen to run in some Tory ridings and some of Doug's statements. If there isn't some pandering to the Far Right here, why is Ford shaking hands with that Proud Boy - and don't tell me it's a "mistake" - and why are Far righters Tory candidates in some ridings?

The best you can do is suggest that Ford sucked every dick he could get his lips on to broaden his base of support - including far right.

"In some parts of the 905 belt around Toronto the numbers are even higher. In Mississauga, visible minorities form 57.2 per cent of the population, and in Brampton 73.3 per cent. The figure rises to 90 per cent in places like Markham and Scarborough’s Agincourt neighbourhood."
https://www.thestar.com/opinion/edi...hic-reality-and-its-leadership-editorial.html

These are the folks who gave Ford his majority (i.e. visible minorities).
Yup. Which suggests that the Far Righters who applauded Ford's election are going to be very disappointed when they figure out that his support base is SoCon first and second generation immigrants.

Personally, I think Ford just wanted to win the election and was promiscuous in whatever support he gathered. Anyone who might vote for him was a buddy, including people I wouldn't choose to shake hands with. I suspect that Ford has some redneck knee-jerk tendencies, but no real political opinions.

Most young men with darker skin have an ax to grind with cops.
LoL...you mean most young men with darker skin have an axe to grind with some cops. But they feel all police are against them? So that makes it ok to protest against all police in your books? You know...the same police that put their lives on the line protecting you?

That's like saying you have an axe to grind with some people who happen to be black or Asian...but you say "Fuck all of them".

Your logic is flawed.

Your point about "let's see if Ford attends the Pride parade" is obviously some kind of test for Ford...but we both know, even if he attends, there will be more and more "tests" right? That's how Ford-haters work. Never satisfied because the real reason they don't like him is superficial...i.e. the way he looks, the way he speaks, etc.

Ford saying he will attend the Pride parade if the police are invited shows that he believes in inclusiveness and respects the police who are multicultural and have many LGBT officers in their ranks.

Try again.

Really? Those are the "bits" you think are clear indications that Ford is a white supremacist? Jeezuz.

So I guess you also think Trudeau is pro-terrorists because he invited one to join him for dinner on his India trip right?

The Leftist Playbook: 10 Easy Steps for Delusional Leftist Cry Babies

1. Smugly suggest that the candidate you hate will never win the upcoming election.
2. Rant about how the electoral system should be changed when the candidate you don't like wins.
3. Once reality has set in, begin a smear campaign as to why they won't be able to govern.
4. Start calling the people who voted for them "idiots" and other colourful names "tolerant Liberals" usually use.
5. Scour the internet.
6. Find anything...and I mean anything...that can be twisted to suit your purpose.
7. Regardless of what is found, come to the conclusion that they are a racist.
8. Start calling their supporters racists.
9. Begin to predict a doom & gloom future on an hourly basis.
10. Continue whining for the next 4 years.

Why, John? Do you think the facts are inaccurate?

What facts
It is all speculation
Ford’s alleged dog whistles and connections to the far-right will further embolden white supremacists and normalize hatred.
the author (if you want to call him that) is predicting how some group will change their behaviour because someone won an election?
does he spend a lot time hanging with the skinheads to gain insight into how they think (or do not think ) ?

Or are you kinda happy the neo Nazis are all smiley?
I would not have a clue if they are smiley or not,.
I find their views to be repugnant, so I do not follow them
If they are all smiley maybe it is because they like less tax on their beer

Genuinely interested here, buddy?

Lots of extreme views left & right floating around on the internet.

What a load of crap! Typically leftie tactics .. They lose then they start to demonize & start calling the person that support Doug Ford a racists.
As opposed to typical righties like Trump who win and still spend more time demonizing the opposition and past admin than actually getting work done.

I would say there has been and continues to be far more demonizing coming from the left towards Trump than vise versa. Wouldn't you agree with that?

Which in itself is ironic because while you say that he hasn't done anything, you are part of a leftist collective that hinders his progress rather than letting him carry out what he promised he would do when elected. So you judge him on the apparent lack of work done, but don't want him to do what he promised he would do. Looks like you have all your bases covered no?

Ironic.

Actually...hypocritical...or maybe both.

You liked your little list so much, you even started another thread just to show it off again, huh?

You think not enough people would see it tucked away at the bottom of this thread?

Actually, I posted about Ford a couple of posts up and said that I DIDN'T think he was a white supremacist. Guess you were so happy about your 10 point list, you missed my post. Oh Boober.......

The president gets criticized. That's part of the job in a democracy. There was plenty of bitching about Obama. All that birther, secret Muslim, communist, coming for our guns conspiracy garbage comes to mind. There was bitching about Bush, Clinton...

And of course Trump gets a big share considering how much time he wastes getting into twitter wars.

Which in itself is ironic because while you say that he hasn't done anything, you are part of a leftist collective that hinders his progress
And you prove what is said about the right-wing nuts whining about conspiracy theories. Trump controls both houses. If can't get things done it has nothing to do with little ole Canadian me.

Actually yes...and thanks for reading it in both places.

Saying you didn't think he was a white supremacist came out in some kind of insult about calling him a redneck isn't exactly saying he's not a white supremacist, but I guess it's open to interpretation. Either way I'm sorry, not sorry.

I'm glad you see that Trump is in good company then.

And as far as his campaign promises, considering he's not even at the 2 year mark, he's doing pretty good:
