Donald Brashear - Idiot

Anyone else here get a little tired of this asshole and his famous hand dusting after a fight? I am attaching links to clips from recent fights againsts Colton Orr and Brendan Shanahan from a game Dec. 30th. To set it up, Orr takes on Brashear, then this idiot yaps at Jagr (not shown in the clip). In the Shanny fight clip, at the start it shows him giving smack to Brashear from the bench then they get it on next shift out together. Nice job by Shanny, shows what a leader this guy is taking on a heavy like Brashear.

Fight over - no problem right? Well keep watching as this jackass suckers Aaron Ward as he skates past then gives the hand dust up gesture. This kind of shit just bugs the hell out of me as I am sure it does to many of the fighters. Totally 'classless' bullshit. While I do not condone stick swinging to a player's head, maybe he got what he truly deserved when McSorely clocked him. He pulled that hand dusting shit with him and I bet McSorely just saw red and lost it on the asshole.

Another good clip is the Andrew Peters-Brashear fight from Dec 26th. Excellent job by Peters, knocked Brashear's helmet off with a couple of beauties to the mellon. No hand dusting after this bout.

Brashear is a total jackass and I hope one day someone kicks the living shit out of him then stand over and dusts him off. You don't see this from the other more respected fighters in the game. While Brashear is truly a tough guy he has zero class.

good scrap. i loved how Shanny ducked outta that first shot from Brashear. Shanny's a true boxer on skates and uses his big frame well- always has imo... even against the smaller, yet much tougher Brashear.

as for Brashear, he's got a role and clearly knows it. atleast he'll drop the gloves with anyone... unlike some other dirty players in the league. but, yeah, on times he lacks class- as you put it.

However, if you are a fan of hockey fighting, you gotta admit some level of respect for Brashear... the guy is still very active in the fighting ring- as one of the league's top 3 most active this season... and he's almost 36 years old. This guy has showed no slowing down, no letting up... and he's not losing fights like how Probert started to do after age 32...

but don't misread me. i too am not a fan of Brashear, just admire his longevity.

He should go back to that Quebec League where all they seem to do is fight. I remember he played there during the lockout and had an incident where he beat some guy senseless, pounded him while he was down. One day he is going to get his but good.

Anyone know for sure, if he and Laraque ever got it on and how it went? I like Georges but cannot seem to recall any bouts with Brashear.

Shanny in Jr was a mean son of a bitch .... I grew up two blocks away from him so his story and career has been followed closely in this area ... So what Shanny showed last night is his great leadership skills ... He didn't like what was going on with their star player and he took control of the issue..

Not sure about him being a mean SOB in junior but he also wasn't a pussy. I saw him play quite a bit with the Knights and cannot honestly remember him for anything other than being a great hockey player with a very bright future. However, he pretty well did it all - score, play physical and could obviously trade hands with anyone. The real mean SOB on that team was a guy by the name of Greg Smyth. Followers of the OHL may remember him and his antics. Ended up in the Leafs system at the end of his career. Brings back some good old memories in the old 'dearly departed' London Gardens.

I think they fought a couple times in the pre-season and Brashear took the edge in one and Laraque took a slight edge in the other. Neither fight was very interesting and mostly homo-hugfests initiated by Brashear. Can't find the links. I'd give a slight edge to Laraque, but it would be a close fight.

Then I think the same year, Laraque beat Worrell and Brashear lost to Worrell.

I gave the fight to Domi, because of the end, but most Flyers fan say Brash killed him in that fight.

That was probably the only time I ever cheered for Domi. I loved the last part when he gave the 'down' sign since he put Brashear down - twice. Great clip. I think even Belak gave Brashear a pretty good bout last week as well.

I love Ovechkin, but for him not to get anything more than a $1,000 fine for his cheap shot on Briere a couple weeks agp and then for Orr to get 5 games for what he did is crazy. I guess it is OK to hit someone head first into the boards from behind?

Orr ... smacked a prime draw NHL player..
