I am right. And you know it but don't want to say it. As to the rest next you will be saying election results will be overturned. I highly doubt any government will go that route. Its the same type of argument the NRA uses to scaremonger on gun legislation. Slippery Slope in this case doesn't apply. It weighs evenly on all concerned parties. And large private entities aren't people. They don't enjoy the ssme rights as actual living people.

Thats the real danger.
Yeah, because we're supposed to be capitalist, not democratic.
So if tens of thousands of workers pooled their money and tried to influence politics that wouldn't be fair.
Lobbying is only for corporations and the very rich.

I’m OK with it I don’t think unions should be allowed to spend one cent the membership is forced to pay dues so unless the union receives 100% of its members voting in favor for any political campaigns they should not be permitted to spend one cent, or membership dues should become optional and not mandatory

Yes Butler you are right. We all know you're right, always have been and always will be, it's just we all just don't want to say it out loud.

Of course the government will go that route Butler, whichever route that you believe the government will or won't go.

And now Butler, thanks especially to you, we all can clearly see it's the same argument the NRA uses to scaremonger.

And yes Butler, slippery slope only applies and only does not apply solely based upon your saying so or not.

Evenly or unevenly, large entities, equal rights, living people ..... yes, yes, and yes Butler.

And as you so deftly concluded Butler, "that's the real danger".

Well apparently I am. It will happen tomorrow. And then that will be it.

Tell you what. If Ford in 2022 uses the Clause exactly like you said and overturns the election results if he loses and declares himself Emperor of Ontario you can say I Told You So.

Until then yer wrong.

Yes Butler, you are right and I am wrong. I am wrong and you ARE right.

You have always been, continue to be and will always be right.

As right as you have always, always and always been about Rob Ford, you continue to always be the "same right, right, right" about his bro JUST SAY NO TO DOUGS.

And Trump, don't forget how much more right he was about Trump being way more progressive than Sanders and the dems.

Well, clearly people who DoFus doesn't like and vice versa. The larger issue is how nuts it is to use the "notwithstanding" clause over a political tiff. I mean, FFS!

But asshole fat boy did the same sad shtick over the Toronto city counsel bullshit at the beginning of his administration.
That DoFo is using the notwithstanding cause in a bullshit manner is not surprising if true, but also kind of irrelevant to my question.
No one has set up an explanation of what the law actually changed and why the court rejected it.

I have to sit down and read it and I am too busy with RL lawyer stuff to do that for a while.

Ford’s use of notwithstanding clause for third-party ads law may backfire: experts

And it passed. Now the Unions will have to use their own 3rd parties, to run 3rd party ads.

And what the people behind Canada Proud, and Ontario Proud who constantly run misleading Liberal Attack ads? (Lol.... I already know that answer)

All it does is add 6 months. A blessed six months.
Meanwhile, as DOUGS shits on the Charter of Rights and the democratic process for personal and political benefit, his overlords, the developers, have and continue to enjoy 24/7 control of the levers of power:

I guess this type of election and political interference is DOUGS and Butler's preferred option.

Butler has always been pro big corporations and allowing them to influence politics while pretending he's a lefty.

I know.

What's up with that?

I bet he owns 1 share of Big Corporations Inc. smuggled to him in a peach cobbler pie by his gran gran while serving a stint in a Big Jailers Corp. prison farm and is now looking for a windfall to finance his jet set lifestyle.

Wouldn't doubt that's where he honed his cake decorating skills too.
