major winners are trotted out in front of the cams...

I mean major winners. It's seems $1000 and over doesn't list the jackpot winners. Jackpot winners are listed separately and it seems they don't list very many of them.

Yes. You will sign a waiver to release your image. However, you are not obligated to do the televised spot. You can opt out of that. They just need your image for the rotating billboard outside OLG HQ.
Sunglasses and hats are OK. Most North Americans don't think of this though since kidnapping and violence are not really an issue to winners here. It is in other parts of the world.
