A friend of mine was trying to convince me to buy a Apple computer for home use. And that I will enjoy the Apple experience more than PC Windows computer experience. I will admit Apple products are well designed but I'm concerned about switching operating systems back in forth between home and work is inefficient.

I do.
Apple is unbeatable when it comes to laptops.
My MacBook Air is 10 years old and it is still going strong. (I am writing this on my Air)
I only had to replace batteries a few times.
I use Windows at work because that is what they give me and because I like using Office apps on Windows.
I also do have a Windows laptop for my personal business, which is a Surface 7 and it is great too.
But nothing beats Apple MacBook Airs.

1. What is your use case for a home computer? If you want to play video games, Windows is pretty much a must.
2. Spec for spec Apple might cost you almost twice as similar Windows set up
3. I currently use Linux, MacOS, and Windows. No issues. But i'm weird haha. What is your concern about using two different systems?
4. If you shopping for Laptop, i would get Apple. Way more optimized and refined user experience. But, again, pricey.

Nopes. I will never buy an Apple product. There is a total lack of customization. Everything is so restrictive on Macs, and you got to use Apple products for everything. That is done by design. Plus I am a gamer, so a Windows PC is a must. Same for phones, will never buy an Iphone. Only Samsung. Always Android. For PC, Linux is amazing but compatibility with games is an issue.

Agree with all CLOUD 500 said.
I switched to Linux years ago which is better than Apple and is totally FREE!
Linux has been my main OS for years and allows for total customization and is totally secure.
When getting a new PC I keep Windows and dual boot with Linux and end up having two OSs that run fine with no issues.

You can dual boot a Mac, also can run Parallels OS, having both on screen side by side. I’ve done both.

Really depends what your needs are.

I use a Mac Air from 2015 as my travel computer. I got it used in 2022 for $220. Shout out Jade Skyy, she put me on to Mac.
It does everything I need on the go. I have the 11” model, i7, 16gb ram. Custom ssd at 1TB. Got it cuz it’s soo small, shit fits on my airplane food tray with space for my coffee/snackz. Coming from a 17 inch MBP I am just soo happy with how little it is! I have an IPhone 13 Mini so they can be tiny friends together. What a cute couple!

My home office features one big rig windows OS computer, Ryzen 5600x 4.20ghz, 32gb ddr4 4000cc ram, Nvidia 3060 12gb vram. I used for gaming and crypto mining. Super custom setup I made for my self. Cost me 10x what my Air did and I use it sparingly, cuz I don’t game like that these days, also never home. So it’s just a miner now.

Most of my older computers I have turned into Linux based crypto miners. This allowed me to keep using 15+ year old tech efficiently, cutting power costs way down, while still profiting. With Linux OS you can truly customize everything about your computer system. It will breathe new life into what you thought was a brick.
