I had the strangest collection which I threw out a year ago. I had kept them for such a long time.

It was thousands of Yugoslavian matchbox labels all in mint condition, never used straight out of the factory printing them still in sheets.
As a kid, one of the refugee camps we were at was near this factory and some of us were allowed in to see it.
I was fascinated by them and kept going back when I had the chance with my dad and one of the workers I guess liked children and gave me boxes of them.
There were groupings of all the castles in Yugoslavia, wild flowers, the different types of fish in their rivers, a collection of their most famous football players there were many different full sets.
The colours were amazing that is what really attracted me to them.
I offered to give it to my kids but they weren’t interested.

I have a 1901 Pittsburgh Pirates baseball cap. Paid $7 at a garage sale in 2004 and it's worth around $7000 today. I've got around 30 caps worth over $5000 that I paid less than $100 for.
These days and ages there can be value in the strangest items as there's always someone who wants other people's crap.

I collect gold krugerrands. I keep them in a custom storage box buried under a false cement floor in my basement. You never know when a stack of krugerrands will come in handy. Or a gun, for that matter. Just sayin' is all.
