In Quebec they increased it to 3-weeks after 5 years of work for the same company. I believe also in Quebec, you have the right to take a 4th week (I am not sure after how long) but I think it is an unpaid option.

In Ontario, however, under normal curcumstances (unless you work for the government) the only mandatory time remains 2 weeks year after year until the bitter end - thus you are a Slave to Work. So stop reading this thread and get back to your job!

It would be interesting to review the vacation times of people living in other countries.

Ontario's Employment Standards Act says "most" employees "earn at least two weeks vacation time every twelve months."

"Employees are entitled to be paid at least four percent of total wages earned as vacation pay." My math is rotten, but that translates to two weeks pay to cover those two weeks vacation.

I think there are different regs for different types of jobs and depending how you get paid. For example I work on salary plus commission in a sales job. I am told I am allowed 2 weeks vacation every year. But I MUST take the time off or forfeit my vacation. I.E. It does not roll over to the next year if I don't take it. Also if I do not take the time off they will not pay me the 4%. In other jobs I have had in the past that were hourly wage jobs they had to pay me the 4% by law if I did not take the time off by the end of the year.

There's no law about increasing vacation time. That's up to each employer. What's also not known that at a certain level, it becomes negotiable, especially when moving to a new company. I negotiated 4 weeks vacation when I was headhunted.

I just looked at your photos and you do have a very nice pair of legs! I can see why your employer wants to keep you around more.
