We will never understand fully what drives these nuts to commit these heinous crimes. But I suspect it begins with the OJ Simpson syndrome. if I cant have her then nobody else will. So they conjure to do away with the wife. The other part is not wanting to get caught and stand trial. And then getting rid of the kids so they are not a burden to others and not having them live with the memory of what he did to their mom.
