Do you think it's wrong that Mayor Ford was not at the Pride Flag raising ?

This really bothers me that people are complaining that Rob Ford was not at the flag raising ! We live in a free Country that we have the right to our own believes.

I think that he did the right thing ! Too many bleeding hearts out there trying to get the votes of the gay community.

Why have the parade on CANADA DAY, can we not have a CANADA Day parade ! ! ! !

Next year he and his bro' say they are gonna have that parade you want and prove they can organize something worth staying in town for. Why aren't you cheering on that bandwagon?

The Parade on Sunday closes the week. It does disrupt part of Bloor and most of Church, but that is city life for you.

How exactly it disrupts Canada Day, more than say, not wearing a maple-leaf bikini when hanging at the cottage or painting the garage instead of commemorating the day at Fort York I cannot say, but perhaps you can. Or you could email the Mayor suggesting next year he declare a holiday Monday the week before to encourage re-scheduling the parade.

I think celebrating freedom and pride on Canada Day isn't a bad thing at all.

I think it is foolish tp have the parade on canada day...it certainly diminishes the importance of both as cultural celebrations. They both deserve a day of there own. But that has nothing to do with the Pride flag raising which happens earlier and for which Ford just weasled out with a vague excuse......what a pathetic mayor.

I would feel the same way had previous mayors chosen not to attend a flag raising or the parade. Makes absolutely no difference to me. It does make me laugh seeing people's blood boil because he chose not to attend. Maybe they can start a Facebook page so they can unite and get all organizy and stage a protest down at City Hall. Yeah what a great idea, they seem to have enough time on their hands.
