It's so boring at work so I have to entertain myself and get informed all day long.

I work for a Broker/Fund Company. At work, I am one of the people responsible for monitoring network and internet activity. We have tools that log each site a user visits and how much bandwith they use.
Our internal policies indicate that the user is responsible for what they do on their workstations. Each user receives a policy and procedures memo, and they have to agree to abide by them.
In the last nine years, we have yet to give anybody a warning.
I have found that the people in the most powerful positions seem to abuse this the most.
Hell I spend most my of time on Terb and other similiar sites

Wish I could....but the monitor our internet usage and the sites we visit. Chances are they wouldn't take notice, but I'm not going to risk it. Also, the adds are somewhat risque, so the last i need is for someone to walk in on me and see an add for an escort agency at the top of my screen.
Never at the office which is a network.
Even though our IT guy is very cool, and we even exchange "humourous" emails, I wouldn't surf terb at work.
That's why i have the internet at home.
If i am travelling for work, i have a lap top with a dial up service, so that is safe since there is no way for them to trace my activities without perhaps calling telus, but that would be a little over the top.
The only thing i ever go on from the office is maybe the globe and mail, or canoe, maybe a finance site. They don't care about that and no tongues will wag.

Have to do it at work. Too much of a risk of getting caught at home. At work all they can do is fire me....
