Do You Support Your Kids Playing Sports?

There's nothing worse than obnoxious and belligerent parents attending their kids games.

Sports is better than playing computer games but it depends on the sport.

No to sports that involve hitting (risk of injuries). Yes, to non-contact sports but even those can also cause injuries if not done properly and in moderation.

If I had kids I would support them fully in participating in what ever sport they wanted. Got to lay some ground rules though. They have to commit to attend every practice and game with no excuses. None of this "I decide I don't like it" and want to quit. 100% commitment. Sports can be to expensive to give it less than your best.

I think team sports are a great way to socialize and make life long friends.

Absolutely. I want them to continue for life. Hockey and baseball for main sports with skiing and swimming here and there.

Sports are great for kids both in terms of their physical health and development along with learning teamwork, sportsmanship, etc.

My 2 sons played Rep hockey AA AAA and Rep baseball starting at an early age. Played HS sports,They went to US Colleges on baseball scholarships and played baseball in the Ontario Inter County League for a number of years. One son won 5 ICL Championships. We were strong supporters of their sports and are now enjoying the second generation of hockey,baseball players our grandchildren. My wife and I often joked if we had the money we had invested in the sports and our daughters competitive dancing we could have bought a Muskoka cottage! They all have life long friends to this day from their time in sports and both are still playing and both are coaching minor sports giving back to the community.
