I am surprised that it took this long before someone posted about this story!!

It is interesting how they were able to reverse the filter that he had used on his photos. Moral of the story (for anyone - not directed at pedophiles!).. if you do not want to be identified by your photos online.. use a mask or more than one filter

He is 32, originally from Maple Ridge, BC. An English teacher in South Korea. His family in BC is cooperating with the RCMP. (from the Globe & Mail, yesterday... there was 3 photos - they published the one from the airport)

He is apparently in Thailand. They have photos from the video surveillance system at the Bankok airport when he arrived last Thursday.

Hopefully he has to serve his time in the country with the worst conditions in their prison / justice system

Going on an international manhunt is a feelgood story for everybody and I hope they catch the guy.

However, what's really needed is pressure from Western governments to force Thailand and these other countries to crack down on underaged prostitutes and sex trafficking. After all many guys go there to have that "virgin" experience.

Sex tourism is a good income for these countries and I don't think they will shut it down.

Let's not go around blaming the victim here because Thailand is cracking down on child sex tourism. Why don't the Western countries more closely monitor and control their pedophiles who are exploiting children in other countries?

That would help, but what's wrong with trying to shut down these places?

It's like saying 'stop people from buying Dollarama toys because they were made with child labour'.

Your post stated that it seemed as if the Thais willingly allows this sort of thing to go on when, in fact, they do not.

Lets hope they nail him before he gets back to Canada!
He won't even need a bandaid for his slap on the wrist...he'll promise to be a good boy...2 years less a day (avoids the big pen) to be served on weekends and promises on scouts honour to stay away from young kids....hell, his lawyer may even get it down to 6 months house arrest and no internet access. Now, ain't this a great country or what??

God, we really do need a drastic overhaul of our shitty justice system with respect to kid porn and the exploitation of young children.

What places are you talking about?
These kids are not being procured in the Thai bars and massage parlours.
I'm sure there are some underage sex workers but any establishment and customer would be in very serious trouble if caught.

This guy will be caught soon or he will be found dead.
I sure hope they don't extradite him to Canada.

.

One problems in Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia....is that there are a lot of kids wandering around (selling trinkets and flowers) walking around in a lot bars and on the streets (and there is no adult supervision).....

Makes it an easy target for a Child Predator.....

While that is a "problem", it still does not excuse this bastard. You are saying that with opportunity it is not his fault?

Hmmmmm,

While I agree with every posters view on this individual I wonder how many are willing to turn the microscope inwards.

How many on this board have been with woman who are exploited in Toronto ?

Pimps, Drug dealers turning out their users in the strip clubs, some of these Asian places that are actually ''holding'' their womans passports and are forced to work .

Just a few ideas .

Ok, let the justifications and insults and eye closing start !

Hey friend...

You can read certain places here in Toronto and go and seek justice too and ''kick the shit'' out of people here and call the police here too who exploit underage prostitutes !

Don't even need to go to Bangkok !!

That's not completely true. A majority of tourists go to The Kingdom of Thailand for the culture, the food, the brilliant hotel service, the massages and to have relationships with consensual adult women. There are a few sickos in Southeast Asia like Jon Mark Carr (who claimed to kill Jon Benet Ramsey and then got Business Class, duck, champagne and hot Thai women in Thai Airways) and the pig who Interpol and Thai Customs and Border Patrol has quite pegged. Notice that about 95% of the sickos are teachers or priests.

I remember watching a thing on 60 Minutes or one of those shows where they followed an American tourist undercover going into a place where he had a choice of 8 to 10 year old girls. The guy happened to be a doctor. They then confronted him.

I don't blame the Thai government for the fact that it exists, I blame them for not cracking down on it. But, I guess with any poor country the government has its hands full dealing with more pressing issues than dealing with a sex problem.

If you do not think that child prostitution is a pressing issue you need to examine your priorities
