Poll for the ladies.

Got into an interesting discussion while feasting at a popular sushi buffet in NYC. My dinner date and I were sat at a table at the foot of busy stairway & near the start of the buffet table.

The restaurant was packed at the time, so you can imagine the traffic near our table. The eatery was a good place for eye candy with 20 & 30 somethings - both Asians & non-Asians alike. Most dressed for clubbing.

It was not long before we realize when girls come down the stairs, their eyes light-up when they spot me, as to flirt (I'm heads above typical crowd, Ok, good for stroking the ego). But once they spot my dinner companion, their face change and reactively grab the arm of guy walking behind them - presumably BF.

My dinner companion noticed attention we were getting. I joked to her, "people must be admiring your jacket...". She was wearing a trendy outdoor adventure coat many sought after.

After observing for few mins, she noted same behaviour among the girls. My date propose an experiment to wrap her arms around mine in clear view. Sure enough, women with hostle faces and the pattern repeats without fail.

So now question for the ladies - Do you Flirt?

If so, why do you Flirt? ;)

I think flirting is a lost art! People flirt for the same reason they drink or take drugs or engage in sports: to feel good!

I enjoy flirting with older (60+) gentlemen more so than younger gentlemen because they seem to understand that flirting is ... just flirting. It's done for fun. Nothing serious is meant by it. Old guys tend to be really terrific at flirting!

My mom and I have a huge conflict on this point. I have always been flirtatious -- with both men and women -- and I find that I get better service and people feel more comfortable with me because of it. It irritates my mom to no end that I smile at the guy behind the counter a the auto parts store or ask the waitress about her necklace. I find that flirting makes people feel special -- and who among us doesn't want that? It makes my day when someone flirts with me -- so why wouldn't I want to pass that feeling around?

I'm a waiter, I'll flirt with just about anybody. Why? For the the big tip of course. So I'm a ho, gotta pay the rent. The customers like it, especially the cougars.

I don't flirt because I don't know how to
I just stare at women in a really creepy way
DO NOT STARE!! quick glances with not much eye contact! followed by interest! If you get a repulsive gesture move to the next prospect!

area code four one sex
sometimes when I'm staring I start to lick my lips is a really unpleasant manner
sometimes my mouth is left gaping open, and moisture makes its way down the side of my mouth and drips onto my stained star trek t-shirt

Indeed, a simple smile or admired comment, such as nice hair or beautiful sweater would melt even the meaniest customer service person.

Like the other day at the car dealership on Yonge, the servicelady appeared to be having a bad morning, her customer greeting, "Yea, next." I flash my smile and commentted the colour of her blouse suits her. That made her day as she waved charges for few minor service. No, I did not get her phone #. :D

Reminds of the Outback Girl. It was dinner with the boyz. This waitress gal made my married buddies jealous.

I sat in the aixle seat. Everytime she came by, she slowly placed her hand on my shoulder and carefully lean over to the table, her C boobs inches from my face. If I lean forward, my nose would be rubbing her nipples. She has a atheltic tight body. Gorgeous Canadian girl, love her dark hair, that most would die for.

She knew the guys were all paying attention to her, she with her finger lightly run across my upper back to my shoulder.

;) Well, I wasn't paying the bill that night, but I made sure she got a good tip, saved us from a SC visit.

I Always Flirt

I flirt because it is so nice to see someone you don't know walk away from you with a smile on their face. I am all about making people happy.

My flirting can be as subtle as a sweet smile to the gentleman getting on the elevator or can be so bold as to almost telling some sexy person want I want, when and how....lol

Flirting is all good...

But y'know sometimes it's easy to confuse flirting with "being nice".

Between a rock and a hard place
Flirting has to be subtle. For example, I remember a very attractive salesperson at Sears. I feigned interest in an upright vacuum cleaner just to get some of her attention. Complimenting her by expressing appreciation for her knowledge. She blushed each time. I never bought one, but she said it was a pleasure to serve me. I sometimes don't hear that even when I do make a high ticket purchase. I probably could have started something from there, but coward that I was I never found a good excuse to bother her a second time.
