I'm more of a science guy so when I hear stories like the original poster I usually say something like.... well its Halloween, tons of people running and and down the driveway blah blah blah. But at the same time if that give you comfort than who am I to rain on that parade because until you can rule it out as a possibility it is one in my books.

Is there a spiritual afterlife..... possibly, physicists theorize that there are other dimensions so perhaps moving on to those dimensions is the after life. As for seeing into other dimensions sometimes it can only occur when looking at things just the right way.... e.g. ghosts. An analogy might be looking at a sheet of paper..... easy to see when the flat side is facing you but difficult when looking at the edge.

Other ways of thinking about the after life might more do with your legacy..... memories, deeds, genes you've passed on.

On an atomic level when you die and decompose your atoms get recycled.

So maybe there is..... it's just probably not a bunch of fluffy clouds and do gooders hanging around.

I'm hoping for a waiting room with TV so real it's like you're there, a couch so comfy you never have to shift, and every woman I've ever whacked off to is there offering bb everything at no charge...... oh yeah and a fountain of unlimited mineral oil........

Okay fine I'll settle for my friends, family and world peace.

Funny that was the reason why I was figuring that you'd be too preoccupied to mess things up. :D

When it comes to 'the afterlife' if you mean heaven and hell, then no, i don't believe in it. However i do believe that we are spiritual beings having human experiences. These bodies that we have now are just our 'shells' for this life time. Our bodies are what we've decided to use to travel around in. I believe in reincarnation....as i have gone into one of my past lives through meditation. and the feelings i felt when i was reciting what happened in my past life, were too intense for me to be making them up. A friend of mine passed away over the weekend. But i know that eventually he will come back onto this planet, whether i'm still here or not.

Afterlife.....Same as Hereafter?

It reminds of an opening line that I often use to start up a conversation with an "appropriate lady".......when I ask her if she believes in the "hereafter" (I like "hereafter better than "afterlife", for obvious reasons as follows:

Dirty Old Man - "Excuse me Miss, but do you believe in the hereafter....?"

Fair Maiden - "Why yes, as a matter of fact I do...!"

Dirty Old Man - "Then you obviously know what I'm here after...!"

" If you're not here after what I'm here after; you'll be here after I'm gone"

Realism would certainly lead you to believe that there is nothing but "recycling" after death and that may well be the case. I guess we'll find out.

Religion is nothing but a "sop for the masses." The only real question that ihave has to do with the somewhat intangible "spark" or energy that makes me "me" and possibly you "you;" although the rest of you may simply be an image to me; an image that disappears along with you when you close your eyes for the last time.

I am just curious what happens to the "spark ?" possibly just "lights out," "tools down," "adios."

That's just the point . . . you don't. But what you've done survives . . . whether it's kids, companies, or actions.

Think of it . . . Mother Theressa is rememberedafter her death . . . but so is Hitler!!! They each got the afterlife they deserved!!!
Ok, but the point is why would I even care of what people thought of me after I'm dead, especially if I thought there was no afterlife?

Its not like Mother Theresa is around to enjoy it, or Hitler around to be scorned by it.

I got other issues, like, I'm dead, even then I wouldn't care for obvious reasons.

Even if this were the case; time eventually leads to all being forgotten. Also, the views will change depending upon who is communicating about you after you are history.

In any event "who cares?"
