-the fact the USA have to dry dock an Air Craft carrier to save the crew shows you the dangers of such a weak ass, totally wimpy virus such as this.
This virus is so contagious that if left unchecked it could make so many people sick it could easily severely damaged or destroy the economy. The current lockdown is far from total. The Beer Store and LCBO are still open.

100% The economic damage is much more greater than the virus.
1000% the sheep have a hard time understanding it...the gov will take care of us lol

Yes money is always more important than human life . See if you feel the same way if someone in your family dies or if you get sick .

Fuck everyone else . I want more money .
Money lets us live with a roof over our head, food, clothes, car etc...essentially it makes the world go round. Try living in the twenty first century with no money... a couple chickens & a goat who knows maybe the bank will barter with you for your next loan or mortage payment! The only ones dying in large numbers are the 60+ & at risk. As of Wednesdays stats out of the 385 deaths in Ontario...7 under the age of 60, Quebec 487 deaths...20 under the age of 60. Of those 27 people under age 60 I'd like to see the autopsy to see if there were any underlying conditions & dollars to donuts there is. I'm no rocket scientist but I'd say if your 60+ or at risk sit this one out, stay the fuk inside & let the rest of us go back to work so we all have some standard of living. Although our great leaders will tell you no loss is acceptable we all know that's a lie

Its not about more money, if the lockdown lasts too long you are going to destroy millions of families who's businesses will go bankrupt and who may never recover from it. And that number will be much, much higher than the 2 or 3% who die from the virus
The simpletons have a hard time understanding this, we're losing something of the effect of 1.5-2.0% of our gdp everyday we sit in hiding

You are joking about the "could easily" part right Darts? This lockdown nonsense keeps up you'll be passing this debt off to your grandchildren. I don't think people grasp the financial peril this country & world is heading for like totally clueless. Anybody that does would be begging their Mayor's, Mp's & petitioning the Premier's to get things rolling

Oblivion
America, the European Central Bank and the Bank of Japan can use quantitative easing and just print more money which is what is going to happen. The huge pile of money that China and Japan put into the US Treasury over a few decades can never be returned to them. The IMF can issue massive loans to the developing world, forever keeping them in financial bondage.
There is much uncertainty going forward about many things. There is certainty that the economy or what is left of it must be re-opened and certainty in our mortality whether it is from Covid-19 or something else.

Last week I read something about the virus being able to hang in the air for an hour or two. So today I'm getting gas at my Esso, I wait in line and distance socially like everyone else, but I'm thinking if this virus can hang in the air like a cloud, and the counter lady handles 20 or 30 customers within 2 hours or so, how can this virus not spread like crazy regardless if everyone is socially distancing or wearing a mask???

The answer is it WILL spread because people still have to breathe in and out, even if they wear a mask.
Do you really think the mask will stop all air particles??

Anyone with a brain has thought the same thing. But as you can see, this board is filled with brainless hopefuls. They literally equate opening up the economy with some imaginary evil rich grinch just trying to get richer. They forget that their entire life and future depends on a functioning economy. Big Daddy Government can't spend your kids and grandkid's money indefinitely to save your old washed up ass.

This is due to a failure of our educational system that teaches social activism (bad rich people! virtuous poor people!) over science, math, and literature.

Can you imagine being in the Maple Leaf dressing room after a game and one of the media types has the infection. He/she could wipe out the whole team.

Actually the droplets that contain strong amounts of the virus that can infect you drop to the ground within 6 feet. It is what they call the aerosol that can remain in air longer. It is what it sounds like ... fine mist particles that can float easily. However the aerosol does not have a strong concentration of the virus and it makes it harder to be infected ..... or you get infected with a smaller "dose" and do not become a carrier or get sick. At least that's the theory, more info always coming out.

As for masks, N95 is pretty reliable but if you have a lesser or homemade mask your chances of filtering out the Rona go down.
