Or is it like a unwritten rule not to get personal with their clients. I have had friends who dated strippers and were fine with what they did for a living, also one of them used to drive his gal to and from work.

Yes, many do date their clients. For many it is an un written rule, but there are exceptions for every rule.
One time I booked this French chick for hh and after the session was done I wanted to book her for another hh cause she was awesome. She told me she was hungry and said if I could take her out for sushi. I went and had an almost a date with her, when we're done gone back to her place and got the other hh when we're done.

Happens every week. They'll only date til the money stops coming. Just some advice, consider how you met them. Ever seen the show how I met your mother? Imagine they showed him going to an incall location.
I was going to give a goofy and snarky answer but I am genuinely curious about your situation: Is it an exclusive relationship? Do you still see her in her professional capacity? And are you ever bothered by what she does for a living?
It was quite an unusual relationship. I met her at the spa, after about 6 months we stated meeting for coffee or lunch. After the spa closed she quit the biz but we started to do private appts. I know she still saw a few other well to do clients as they tipped her quite well but with us it a case of sometimes I tipped her and sometimes she didn't want a tip. The whole time we had to sneak around as she was stuck with an abusive BF. Last year things came to a head and she ended up in the hospital courtesy of said BF. After she got out she moved in with her mom but eventually had to move out of town with relatives because of the harrassment. We still keep in touch and I do miss her a lot.
Some due, majority don't. As long as you don't expect anything out of it then it's fine. Building a good relationship with an Sp can go a long way in getting better service.
SPs are not in the business to find boyfriends. They're in it for money. Clients are in it for hassle-free sex. We're not really paying for sex, we're paying for the freedom of being able to have sex with many different women without guilt. Even pretending can get you in trouble. Although this is a generalization, it is true more than 99% of the time. Do not try to become a part of your SP's regular life. The fantasy she provides is always better than reality.
