The Chicks were always a bit "edgy" for country music...what they lost in "redneck" support will be supplanted by a new audience.
"edgy"? When I took my nieces to a Dixie Chick concert, I'd say a good chunk of their fan base were girls the age of my nieces (16 and 14 yrs old). That doesn't exactly translate to "edgy" in my book.

Although talented, their style just makes me feel somewhat queasy.

If I want a blend of politics, edginess and "music" I listen to Ministry w/ Carl Orff

I loved it when she quoted the Simpsons when they won Single of the Year, lol, that was great!!!

I've always preferred N.W.O. (New World Order) by Ministry. Surprisingly still topical video, especially the part where they show police going Rodney King-style on someone dressed as the Statue of Liberty. Actually, it's probably more relevant today than it was at the time.

Is Al even still alive? I remember hearing him in an interview boasting that if he could he would have the record company pay him in heroin and cut out the middle man, and I thought that he wouldn't be long for this world.

The Dixie Chicks - the only thing good that came from south of the Mason Dixon line.

Give them a try. For country music, it deviate from the Norm.

Kudos to the girls stuck to their guns. It takes guts for housewives, especially in the south.

You realize that all celebrities are aware of cameras, right? She was taking advantage of her photo op. Dont kid yourself, hardcore country hates the Chicks, and Reba is as "old country" as they get.
I thought Roy Rogers was THE OLD COUNTRY.:)
