Maybe because the SP's are not breaking any laws if they are operating an outcall business and are not solicitating in public like the streetwalkers are.
How amusing....by your own definition, having incall reviews should also be banned as they are very much illegal. And yet we have a whole forum devoted to it in the Toronto section.

Nice try but lacking a little bit of truth and reality there....and yet not at all surprising that it is.

Talk to Fred, he is the one that doesnt want streetwalker reviews here.
Yes, and at the time he said that it was because his lawyer advised him to draw the line at providers who advertised elsewhere first so as to remove TERB as a medium for primary advertising and protect it from potential charges (since who ever knows if websites will become deemed "public" since that isn't written in a law anywhere and relies entirely on case law that could literally change tomorrow). This is why "semi-pro" ladies from GTAC or chatlines (like Quest and Lavalife) with no formal advertising anywhere were restricted from having reviews on TERB at the same as streetwalkers.

And my point was more that maybe people shouldn't just make up a story in lieu of getting it right in the first place through due diligence and good research. Hence the recurring problem of TERB: too much cowboy moderating instead of facts and firm guidelines. I think we need solid guidelines on how moderators can/will moderate more than guidelines on posting because it seems to change much more frequently depending on who it is and who the target is.

How in the world are outcalls a grey area? It seems very white to me, absolutely nothing illegal abou tit.
It is illegal for the agency owner according to past cases. In Canada there have been agency owners that have been convicted of living off the avails of prostituion and consequently jailed.

Drivers and office staff too .... although the girl herself is not breaking any law.

OK, so you won't let people post reviews of "street" girls.

Will you at least allow them to post about the times they get busted? Those stories are hilarious! (Of course, they wouldn't be funny if it happened to me)

Now Magazine was always the little controversial paper of Toronto and years ago was the only place Escorts could run ads. I use to always pick up a new copy of Now every Thursday night on the way home from work just for the ads and this was where I got connected with Escorts for the first time. The Toronto Police caught on too and went and arrested the Publisher and Editor of Now charging them with “communicating for the purpose of the charges were later dismissed in court. Now-a-days even the Toronto Sun run ad’s for Escorts like it’s no big deal. How times change.

Maybe it's covered somewhere else, but how does a hobbyist know (unless the SP tells him) if Terb has in place a "NRP" as requested by the SP.

Is there an accessible list somewhere?

Gypsy,

Where did you find it illegal to promote a brothel, other than transport to one which isn't the case on a review board?

If I missed it would like to know, but nothing in Sec 210 and I did a word serach of the entire Criminal Code for promote.

Thanks
Unfortunately, a list of words is useless for discovering arguments. The person who transports or directs a person to a place of prostitution does not have to "promote" anything: the 'mens rea' element is simply that he/she "knowingly" transports or directs someone to such a place. This can apply as much to catching a cab as reviewing and recommending a place where "indecent" acts can be purchased.
The "free speech" defense has long ago been dealt with by The Supreme Court of Canada.

Actually the law states "to a common bawdy-house". I realize that this might be nit picking but your choice of words may lead some to think that just driving an escort to a customer's residence would may qualify since there is a good chance an act of prostitution will occur.

True enough; perhaps I should have said -whatever place may be designated by law as a bawdy house.

Thanks

If you use Bush cartoons you are fine. Don't even think about Danish cartoons, you'll be toast.

Suggestions

Would there be a possibility of a designated section related to Toronto/Other cities, places to meet Women, not directly engaged to adult services (ie. bars, clubs, meeting places, cougar bars, organizations) I can't speak for other TERBites, but there has to be other places that guys can go to to meet Women, without having to constantly empty the wallet. And I do not mean the on-line "dating services" like Lavalife etc...
For example: There is a great coffee shop on the NW corner of Dundas St W & Islington Ave. The reason is that many single ladies from X3 condo complexes, across the street, go there Sat & Sun mornings. You may not meet someone initially but at least the Regular gals get to recognize you. Remember, familiarity builds trust

Or you can be like the idiot in my city who goes on and on about how he sits out on the patio of a named location of Starbucks and takes pictures of women without their knowing or permitting it and then posts them on an escort review board. I'm sure that'll go over great when some woman gets fired from a job or freaked-out on by family members "for being on an escort site". Then you can continue to be resource hog by relentlessly posting scores of photos of girls from online sources until the owner finally has had enough and gives your obsessively-posting ass the boot.

That particular Starbucks is not far from my house, and if I ever catch the fool I'm busting him.

I think I like Yuri's idea better :)
