I really hate getting these alerts. Other than turning off my phone, is there a work around this alert for iPhone?

I think you should follow the instructions. Or watch some video tutorials. I'm sure some of this will help you.

In general, I can share a site with instructions, you can search there.Check ManyManuals, i think you can find something here.

I had to do a fair amount of research. You cannot block them or turn them off, at least not that I found, but I have been able to mute the audio portion of the alert. How to do so seems to depend on the phone you have, or at least the manufacturer.

I muted mine because I cannot help anyone when I am asleep and when I am awake, I check my phone constantly during working hours, so no need to jolt me out of thought with an irritating and excessively loud sound. Plus I work from home full time for years now, so unless they are on my street, I will not be of much assistance.

My phone does not have them, but its off the grid whch means it dosent do anything fancy. In theory it could be blocked a number of ways, assuming your phone is jailbreaked. I d complain to your mp, as its a hazard in some cases. How often do alerts happen?

I don't mind the alerts because of the intent. I hope there is a roadmap to improve on them to make them smarter. For example, consider the time of day, location, etc. Maybe add an opt out feature to a subset of scenarios.

Is it that big a deal? I can't think of the last time I got an alert. Turn off your phone when you go to bed if you don't want to be woken up.

To you people who belittle others because they are irritated by this invasion of privacy, so people cannot turn off the phones that they pay for because of family or work reasons. These alerts should have an option to disable during sleep time. As I have already pointed out, there is nothing you can do when you are asleep.

I searched and found a way to mute them. They will be there when I wake up in the morning. The alert concept is a great idea - the implementation of it was poor. People have the right to not be disturbed when they are sleeping, yet maintain the ability to hear and respond to an emergency call from a family member.

Sheesh!

I have to agree. This is annoying. All it does is make people annoyed and not pay attention to the alerts. Obviously, if it were my kid I would want them to do everything they can, but this does do anything. It would be better if the alerts came through after you take the phone of do not disturb. That way more people would pay attention to them

I'm not belittling people. I'm one of those who can't turn off or silence my phone at night. I'm just saying, if you give people an option to opt out, the system becomes far less effective. From what I gather, there's only a few Amber Alerts each year and not all of them happen in the middle of the night. It's a very small inconvenience in the grand scheme of things.
