Someday when you or someone you love has a disability, you will get your chance to understand how incredibly selfish that comment is. Only by experiencing or seeing someone go through the type of pain that will make you/them go on the edge of almost losing it and have no possibility of relief will you understand.Damn cripples get all the breaks. Bastards!
Not to mention it is so much easier to leave(I usually park in all the empty spots far away from the doors... better for me to walk the extra steps, and better for my paint job too!)
Easy, big guy! It might not make you laugh out loud, but surely you can see that it is an attempt at humour.Someday when you or someone you love has a disability, you will get your chance to understand how incredibly selfish that comment is. try living in a coma for a few weeks (5) with doctors telling YOUR family to keep a vigil and then wake up not nearly the man you were and then lose your income and @55 face the rest of YOUR life in the body you are left with THEN just maybe we can share a "laugh" in the meantime and until you do SHAME!!!Easy, big guy! I'm an incredibly open minded person and almost nothing offends me, Any lady that has seen me can attest to the fact that i'm pretty laid back. I also look for humour everywhere as laughter is a great means of stress relief. I even can laugh at myself, but unfortunately did't find the comment funny.Easy, big guy! odds are someone else is driving them around, but still need that spaceThis actually brings to light a few issues (for lack of a better word) with handicapped spots etc.
1) If someone is mentally handicapped, they shouldn't be driving a fricken car in the first place lol..
Thanks for this idea, I may just use this type of conversation in a similar situation. Make them think twice about respecting the handicapped parking.I had some fun today. There was a guy at the bank parked in the handicap spot as what must have been his girlfriend was at the bank machine. When I was at the other machine, I told her that she was a wonderful woman for dating a mentally handicapped guy but the spots were for people with physical disabilities. She had an embarrased lok on her face as she left and her man had a funny look on his face when I left shortly after her. I guess he was trying to figure out what I meant.
Maybe you're eligible for a temporary handicapped permit then. Not to say for nothing but being in the trades I just about always have some sort of physical ailment: from a herniated disc, to a blown out knee, to dropping shit on my feet, climbing 11 stories of stairs just to get to site, etc etc.
YES local bylaws permit landlords to set parking restrictions and you can be TOWED and FINED...... So can I be fined for denying mom a parking spot?
To add to this if you are parked in a handicapped spot waiting for your GF to 'run into the bank', a cop can come up to you and give you a ticket even while you are just stopped, it did happen to the SO.YES local bylaws permit landlords to set parking restrictions and you can be TOWED and FINED
Just when I thought it wasn't possible to be more inappropriate, well I was wrong. Humour is great when you look at a normal situation and find the silly things about it, what you are doing is not showing a joke, the only thing you show is offense. I personnally am not disabled and not offended but still don't find it funny. (BTW I have an SO and can get laid when I want, I choose to see SPs for variety just like the other 50% on this board. Some others again may be even more offended by this comment.)Buttercup your joke was inappropriate but funny. Some people just can't laugh at themselves and go out of there way to look for offence. That's probably why they need hookers to get laid....

how can they tell? they'd have to either wait until you left or sit there and watch you park...YES local bylaws permit landlords to set parking restrictions and you can be TOWED and FINED
Well, it is my understanding that they want to be treated like everyone else so....why the hell NOT poke fun at them? Pretty soon there will be no more jokes because every comedian has to be PC.Actually, the other situations are funny. Its takes a normal situation and shows a freak accident.
Picking on someone disabled is kicking them when they are already down.
Maybe this is just my pet peeve, however I still think its just in bad taste.
