All scientific evidence says if you drink a beer, a glass of wine or a shot or liquor, it shouldn't make a difference in..."what kind of drunk you get"...but I hear people say that each form of alcohol affects them in different ways. Just wondering if anyone has an opinion about this...
Different Buzz from Different Booze?

It does not affect my mindset of happy, funny and functional drunk. It changes how I feel physically:
- beer/champagne = fart
- wine = headache
- hard liquor/shot = dry mouth
All this assumes I drink a lot and not a glass... more like 10/20. So when I see SP, I stay away from beer and champagne.

Different booze hits me differently;
I can drink a lot of beer all night long and as long as I don't mix, I will get drunk but not plastered.
White wine doesn't hit me much different than beer but I will get absolutely hammered from red wine. I know I probably drink it too fast but it seems to gets into my blood and thru my system so much quicker.
Hard liquor hits me somewhere between beer & red wine if it's mixed. Hard liquor straight will get me shit-faced quickly.

You must suffer from the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde syndrome as you were a perfect gentlemen when we met.
I read an article that researchers did studies on tequila and determined that there was no difference in the alcohol in tequila. I have not had tequila too many times in my life because it taste like lighter fluid to me. My own experience is that tequila is very different from other alcohols.
In my younger days I had one occasion where I was drinking with school buddies all afternoon and then went out for a big meal before we hit the bars. After drinking tequila all evening I was buzzed. We all went out for a midnight snack. I turned white as a sheet and went to the washroom. I turned my head and projectile vomited this orange gush 5 feet into a mirror. I leaned against the wall for about 5 minutes not having the energy to move. Then a second wave hit me and another gush of orange liquid erupted into the mirror.
Somewhere out there there is a guy still hunting for me. That is the guy that had the task of cleaning up that mess minutes before closing time.
Damned straight tequila is different. Don't care what the studies say - drink tequila on a nice, sunny summer afternoon and you are orders of magnitude more likely to find yourself rolling around in a pile of your own sick on your buddy's lawn in front of the neighbourhood kids. Sure, other booze will get you pass-out drunk as well, no doubt. But tequila... it's a helluva drug.
There's a lot of nasty tequila on the market. Then there's Clase Azul which is absolutely delicious. Makes Patrón taste like lighter fluid.
The one in the center (Reposado) is available at the LCBO for $142 a bottle. I buy it in the US for $85.

The only problem is that people usually don't sip tequila, they shoot it. I've never had a high end tequila, so duly noted. Syntax error. The phrase "sipping tequila" has resulted in a fatal error. Please shut down all cognitive processes (might we recommend tequila for that?) and reboot after a week-long bender.
