Did you know that each year, the average North American discards about 81 pounds of clothing?

Thats why all of you should donate your clothes when you don't need them instead of filling up landfills ......twice a year I donate a few garbage bags of clothes shoes purses and other knick back and kitchen things I'm not using .......every year I say I won't buy things I don't need anymore ....but sure enough every single flipping year I do buy things don't need as careful as I am either something ends up being too loose on me or too tight or I buy some kitchen gadget that spends more time in the cupboard then in use. I rather see good quality things able to be used again at quarter the cost for someone that needs it then just throw it and pollute the environment. Do you declutter and donate too?

I doubt I've thrown out 81 lbs of clothes in the last five years. And I typically keep my various gadgets until they start to fail. Case in point, I had had my phone for six years before I recently got a new one.
Guess I'm doing my part.

For proper context, how many pounds of clothing does the average N. American purchase per year.

I find all sorts of clothing and viable boots and shoes dumped in my dumpster dive wanderings.

Bring them home, wash em and donate to Value Village.

Someone should be able to benefit from your unloved things, even if they end up as rags.

I donate all the time.

Just before the pandemic I donated 7 garbage bags of clothing, a bag of belts and a bag of shoes to a shelter for abused women.

I also take every single mini care product available at hotels, wait until I have a bag full, and donate them to homeless or women's shelters.

La la land
I don't really eat at McDonalds. But if I am hungry and on the run I will order a Combo instead of single because of the price. I will give my fries and drink to homeless guy outside who is asking for money. Of course this is near Downtowns.

For the past ten years I just take old stuff to the Thrift store. I really try not to buy clothes.
