That is great! Shows that deposits can work properly even when an appointment is canceled.
I don't think it was in doubt that deposits COULD and can work sometimes. Nor that they don't work other times.
In my case, with a trusted provider, I paid in full for the next appointment and he retired. Money gone to the wind . . . So it can go either way. She was great overall so I am sad she did not feel obligated to pay the money back, but on the other hand its a decent tip /going back present - I wold have just liked it to be voluntary.
Deposits, with people you been with for specific requests are reasonable. But even then there is a risk. While I have been compensated for errors when I book for agencies like Mirage (who never have I had them not fix a problem) generally the amount of ladies who are overwhelmed with paper work - well deposits and on time appointments seem to get lost in the wind more than not.
In my opinion they should be used in rare cases for something unusual.
