Do you think it's acceptable that 48% of households pay zero or negative federal income tax?
Most in that 48% are living in poverty, underemployed, or earning a few Ks over the poverty level. How much more do you propose they be taxed so those in the top 2% can keep their tax cuts that YOU feel they are 'entitled' to?....

When did anyone here suggest that people making between $50,000 to a $100,000 were rich?
Two different points, that's why they're in two different paragraphs.

Did you miss:
Nearly 22% of those making between $50,000 and $75,000 end up with no federal income tax liability or negative liability as do 9% of households with incomes between $75,000 and $100,000.

If so and it is not destructive that is a startlingly new development.
How many months ago did he submit a budget, I wonder why he didn't include his plan in that?

Ryan and the GOP are setting the debate, he's following.

The plan is the same as always.
Kick the can down the road and try to get re-elected.
The plan in the second term is to keep things patched up so that the house of cards doesn't collapse while you are there.
Nobody wants to face reality, much less pay for it, and short term pain, long term gain is not an electable platform.

Obama's plan seems to be to exploit it and ignore it when possible
