I never got a PM like that, but if I ever got lotto money and could be put into a position where people with 0 posts would start asking questions I would reply to them all with a

Fuck off, get cancer and die.

I would also have put something in my sig a long time before it got on my nerves enough to warrent a rant, like.

If you have any questions, either about my reviews or looking for advice, post them. If you PM me, I will hunt you down and beat you to death with a baseball bat.
IF?

IF?
Well aren't you quite the Internet tough-guy? Which martial art will you claim to have mastered?

Why not wait until you actually have the problem described before jumping up and down saying "Me too, guys, me too!!"

In general, I don't write reviews, nor do I share information with any Joe Bloggs that PM's me. It has to be someone I've met or who's opinions I respect.

As for Mao, I'm surprised he hasn't upgraded his handle to Mao Zedong.

I get a fair number of PM's from people based on my reviews.

My reply is proportional to what they contribute to the board.

I've gotten PM's from people with more posts than me, to which I reply with as much as possible.

Far too often I get PM's from people with zero posts. Some of who have been on here for a year or more. I'm polite in my replies, but that's about it. Maybe I'm paranoid about LE on here, but I won't go into more detail in a PM unless you contribute on here. It's only fair.

It takes time to build up "traction" but you have to contribute. You only get what you give.

Big Brian keeps sending me PMs asking for info. I dunno who he even is.
I have received PMs from him also. It would be interesting to corelate who sends unsolicited PMs to who.

I reply to every PM that I get sent, it just seems more civilized, though I do not always give the information they are seeking. I send someone a PM last week about a post he made, and he did not reply. That disappoints me, I would always rather be told why someone does not want to share the information, if I have offended them in the past, or something like that. Not that I would presume to do so if I had not made some posts and replied to plenty of PMs myself.

Sometimes I reply, sometimes I don't, depends on my mood.

And sometimes I regret giving out info. If it's not there on the board, maybe I don't WANT to give the info out??? Ever thought of that?

And it's not always about "traction" either. There are some members here who should not be given info (*like a certain Mr. H69*) because they don't appreciate it.

If a noob shows that he has done some research I don't mind offering my opinon.

That's actually what I mean by "traction". You're a member, giving and taking, and understand the "search" function isn't a PM to me. :D
