I lost a passport once: Canadian embassy issued replacement as rama putri describes but had 6 month expiry.
6 months 'cause you lost it outside of Canada. Cult is suggesting she 'loses' it and gets a replacement before she leaves.

Connect the dots, people.

I wouldn't even think about it. The only place where women get respect is West. Why women all over the world (including Japaneze) dream about a Westerner?

Go to Japan as a tourist first and you will see what I'm talking about.
Yes, and that's why there are so many female leaders in the Western world. Unfortunately, for Asian countries like Indonasia, Pakistan, India, Bangledesh, and the Philippines, they've never had a female head of state. What a damn shame!!!

Yes.

What CultMinus is suggesting is actually good advice from a risk management perspective, but he's a poor articulator.

When you 'loose' your Canadian passport, you have to report it to the Passport Office and/or authorties immediately. Canadian passports are hot commodities on the black market. When you report the loss, you will have to sign a hand written affidavit detailing your loss ie how was it lost and what did you do to find it. The Passport Office will do a quick investigation and you will need to reapply for a new passport - getting signatures from the garantors again, paying the fees, submitting paperwork, etc...

Note that falsely claiming a lost passport in Canada is bad thing - someone who's a lawyer can tell you if it's criminal or not. I suspect it is - I don't actually know.
Be advised that if it's true that you have to sign an affidavit reporting the loss of your passport (& I'm not sure you have to), you'll be swearing a false affidavit knowingly, which is in fact a criminal offense. You'll have to be caught, of course, but in the post-911 security-conscious world, I wouldn't want to be messing around with passport issues like this...

Well I'm not going to fake losing the passport. I was told that passports stay in the girls posession, and I won't give it up. I also found a service through travel cuts where they keep copies of your documents and have a 24 hr emergency help line incase of any problems and you can access your passport on line. So at least that's something. I worked on an American cruise line and when I got there they held on to my passport. I wanted to end my contract early and I did have a bit of a hard time getting it back. And that was a company in Miami. So I've learned from that not to hand it to anyone.

You may wish to check out the following company at www.stripinjapan.com. The women who run this firm are reputable and professional. They have established contacts with some of the best clubs in Japan.

Ya I've been in contact with them. They were the ones that assured me I keep my passport. They also give you all the info. like where you will be staying with phone #, etc. so you can give it to family here before you go. Thanks for the suggestion.

i can see girls falling into the hands of the yakuza in japan but it really isn't any different than a cute 18 year old dancer in toronto falling prey to a pimp.

kat, i think your better option is to work in vegas or florida.

Compared to the Yakuza a pimp here is like a boy scout. As far as I know pimps here don't pay off the cops, over there ??????

Kat19, yes, hold on to passport and credit cards so to escape when things don't work out. A photocopy will save time at Canadian embassy should you don't have your passport. Faking lost passport may trigger a police investigation as our passports command good $.

According to buddies in foreign services, certain Canadian officials are sh*theads when it comes to assisting Canadians when in distress situations, especially for working girls.

When working overseas whether Asia or not, always chance being pressure to escort. Most Asian men love white girls as trophy GF, especially Blondes. I'm generalizing that most Japanese men are among the most prev'd, the gropies. Heard simliar complains from girls worked in Asia.

If you are looking for travel threads, there are several on Terb. www.jnto.co.jp has an travel office on University with lots of free maps with English & Japanese characters on it, travel info and translation books with J characters. BTW, lots of short term stay bargain from NYC to Tokyo so you can check out the place first before deciding.
Good luck.

Wow, how Japan is misunderstood......... Your destiny is in your hands. I would fear Vegas or Florida much more than Japan for the crime element. It is true that many clubs are controlled by Yakuza or associates. But so are many other things, and everyone understands the rules. Make your own deal and keep your passport. Expect to be groped, and handsomely compensated for it. And yes, men dominate public life in Japan. But foreign women are not subjected to the same standards. Be careful and good luck!

Looks like there is a lot of exaggeration about the dangers of Japan! Remember that Japan is a very developed country. It's not like you are going to a shady part of the world.

That said, it should be noted that Japan scored the lowest of all the "developed" nations in a UN study that researched the problem of trafficing of women for the purposes of sexual slavery, and the only developed country that was put on the sex-trade watch list besides Russia. The report did indicate that the women most likely abused are the women from Eastern Europe because of obvious reasons.
