There is something seriously loose and askew with his decision making skills.

Reason Detroit lost is:

DAN CAMPBELL

This video sums up perfectly who he is. Senseless, reckless bravado. Ironically he is also the reason for the success of the Lions.

The Lions followed the script in the second half. I cannot for the life of me explain it any other way. Eerily similar to the Falcons 2nd half in the Superbowl a few years back.

The Lions were aggressive and rewarded regular season for such plays. However that approach during the conference championship game really backfired.

He will be back as the HC next year. But it will only get harder with GB and CHI's recent performance.

This will haunt a Lions fan as much as "wide right" for a Bills fan

Tbh mate - he would've heard it either way - if he was cautious in the play decisions and they lost - the word would've been 'why wasn't he aggressive like the regular season'. Its shame as they dominated the first half and all it took was 9 min for them to tie it in the 3rd qtr.

Anybody who thinks its Dan Campbell's fault should give their head a shake.

As bullitt just said if the receivers could catch a perfectly thrown ball Dan would rival Einstein. The receivers only job here was to catch it and keep the momentem going.

Also the off the helmet break San Fran got just doesnt ever happen.

Attempting field goals from the 28 and 30 of the opponent when leading by 14 and behind by 3, respectively, is not being cautious - it is being prudent. When the 49ers were down 24-7, they kicked a field goal to make it 24-10 instead of going for it. We know how the game turned out

Kick that 45-yard field goal and make it and it is still a 3 score game with another 6 minutes taken off the clock.

Now with SF still down by 3 scores and with that extra 6 minutes run off the clock, SF will forced to be more one-dimensional offensively than they would have been down 2 scores. A more one-dimensional SF offense, passing, is not as effective as a run and pass SF offense.

Kick the 48-yard field goal and make it, the lions now have 30 points.

Drive down and score that last touchdown as they did, making SF use up all their timeouts and it's 37-34 Detroit and SF will receive the ensuing kickoff with about 30 seconds left and no timeouts.

That said, Detroit did play way over their heads in this game. When previewing this game, they really did not have the team to beat SF. When looking forward to next year, their road becomes much more difficult to repeat their won/loss success and playoff success accomplished thus year. Divisionally, GB is now a major player in the division and Chicago could be resurgent.

This year, this game that they lost may have been their best chance to advance to the Super Bowl with Dan Campbell as coach.

Dan Campbell really needs to do some soul searching and have his head examined and made right and if not, he must go.

He kneecapped his team and it cost the Lions a SB berth.
