My recipe for a heat quencher is:

1. One liter of warm water,
2. One liter of cold S.Pellegrino mineral water,
3. Juice of one Lemon and one Lime,
4. A few Mint or Basil leaves,
5. Two table spoons of Honey

Mix well and put in a fridge overnight. The problem with it is that with the abrupt changes in the weather we have been having lately, tomorrow might not be that hot anymore. Actually I think the prediction is rain and much cooler tomorrow and Saturday.

I will not complain of the heat. We had so much rain and cold in May and June. I am happy with some heat. Just sit by my pool all weekend, with a cold one.

When it's January 5 I beg for days like today.

Went hiking yesterday, the Sodastream is paying for itself. Mixed in some mango extract and away I went. Stopped at Booster Juice on the way home for a shot of Wheatgrass.

Nothing hydrates better than plain water. Do NOT put salt in water to hydrate. And there are no biologically significant "trace minerals" in any of the fancy "sea" or Himalayan" salts. Take a One a Day Multivitamin and you are covered for minerals.

If you want to put anything in to make it taste better, citrus etc is fine. Coconut water is good too. Gatorade and the other sugar water poisons are shit. There is nothing electrolytically significant in them except marketing.

When you sweat a lot you become dehydrated, which means you lose electrolytes. Salt, potassium and magnesium are probably the 3 most important ones.
But for me sea salt works the best. And I'm not saying you have to take grams of the stuff, just a few pinches is enough (so under 300 milligram or so).
