We will no longer be posting our daily schedule here as we are clearly not blue anymore. It was a choice between raising rates on your guys or paying TERB there new overly increased ads rates that I feel are unfair.

I understand that rates have raised all over because of HST and we were prepared for this in hopes that it would not affect our rates to our clients but TERBs increase of $70/month was just a little to high in my opinion.

I sent in a payment last week. Whether Fred as got it or not, I don't know. I don't even know if we will be banned for this post but I feel it will probably happen.

We will not accept PM bookings anymore either and I am sure our presence here will be very minimal. Contacting us directly will be your best option.

There is no reason TERB ad rates should rise because of HST. The TERB owners can claim credits for the HST they pay on their inputs. Agency owners can claim credits for the HST they pay TERB.

While your statement about input tax credits is true overall for any business. Do you honestly think that agencies report their income to Canada Revenue? It is primarily a cash business for a reason.

TERB did not raise rates because of HST. Why they raise their rates is their business and I am not going to judge, but the price for what we get compared to what we can charge out here in Durham is just not worth raising the rates on your guys. Not for the 24 advertising posts a month that we make.

Sorry for any confusion. I was speaking about raises in rates all over the place that we have had to deal with while trying to remain at the same low cost to our clients.

Sweetie, they don't have to. This is a private board. Not public. They make the rules, we choose to follow them or not be here.

This is not meant to be a TERB bashing thread. I am just stating my position and why we will not be here advertising anymore.

Um sorry, but no it is not. Not for a little agency in Durham. What is a banner lost in the mix of all the TO agencies going to do for me? And why do I want a banner on Vancouver site? or Montreal site?

I like TERB, so don`t get me wrong. And I do find some value in it. This choice was made because there was a huge increase in price basically overnight for only supporting member status agencies, no one else and I am trying to keep our rates to our clients the same the best I can. My advertising is suppose to give me an ad in the xxx where there is not even a Durham section. I would at least like to get ALL that I am suppose to be paying for if I am going to pay these rates. It is like going to a SP for FS and getting a massage with happy ending.

So thank you for your opinion. Glad it works for you, but you sell hotel rooms, big difference. Until you own an agency outside of Toronto, have been on TERB as long as us and are dealing with the same issues as us, I think we should wait on the comparing of notes regarding the value of TERB.

Cyndey, keep up the excellent work. Keeping the rates at the current levels is very important especially in this economy. Although $20 doesn't sound like much, but that's what's keeping me away from the agencies in TO. $140 for half hour of fun (sometimes not even fun) is a bit much. $120 is my limit for seeing SP's. If it's too high, I'd rather go to MP's to have less fun but also spend less. I digress, sorry. Anyway, been your client for years, thanks for running the best agency in Durham. I always check the schedule on your website anyway.

It sounds like you run a lean yet responsive agency that is well regarded in Durham. That's good for the women and your clients.
You have to keep an eye on whether you're getting your money's worth from advertising on terb, that's just smart business. Keep posting anyway to keep in touch, I like your input here.

CopyCraigs, thanks for your opinion, but I disagree. I know you are TERB white knight supporter and that is fine, but I think if you were in our position you may actually think differently instead of just posting for the sake of posting.

Despo - It was a $70 increase to the orginal rate. So it is like us jacking up our rates to $250/hour on you guys.

Durhamguy - My ladies are quite fine with no longer advertising on TERB. I don`t do anything without their okay. They think it is quite stupid to pay for advertisng when we don`t even have a section in the xxx to advertise in. Why pay for something that we can`t use? Would you pay for FS and be happy with a massage with a happy ending instead?

If my girls insisted we still pay, then of course I would. It is the principle of it that has us all upset.

you on the other hand have 8 girls who work from what your web site says at least 4 shifts a week.
depending on what you collect from each woman for each client 130 some dollars a month is not bad you could cover that in one day if you collect 50$ from each girl then have the rest of the month to profit.

Sweetie is 160/month, which you are right is not bad. But it went from 90/month to 160. That is a 70 hike. There is no section in the xxx for us to place our profile. There is no Durham, Oshawa or Whitby area. Would you pay for something that you can only use half of? I think not and if you did, you would be pretty stupid - business wise.

Also, TERB is not the hand that feeds us. TERB hits are 5th in line for sending us traffic to our site. Redzone which is much cheaper, CL, our print media advertising and direct hits from google top out TERB.

I don`t know how else to explain it. It is not the money. It is the principle of it. If you don`t agree, then fine. The choice has been made. With all the other increases because of HST cost, raise in rent, etc, we have made this choice to the benefit of our clients. That is the main issue. They can find us. We are so well known in Durham anyway.

So thank you for your blunt but honest reply. Mine is unless you are in OUR shoes and see OUR numbers and talk to OUR ladies, your opinion is just that. An opinion that doesn`t reflect our needs or our wants and therefore meaningless to me.

Again, I love TERB. I am sad to be basically leaving. I have told Fred when he gets organized, maybe creates a Durham section that we can use, I may come back. However until then people know why we are not advertising. That is our choice and we happy with it. So are our clients. That is all that matters.

That's good you know where your dollar is most effective.
Just a note, terb has the added feature of a community where you can be more active so it could be that hits from here are more valuable than from other places. You don't really know what source made your client make the decision unless you poll them and that isn't doable without being invasive.
You're right about making your concerns known, how difficult would it be to have a Durham area section?

Again, I hope you continue to post even if you don't advertise - you make a excellent contribution to the place. So good that Fred should be paying you!

Huh? I don't see anywhere in this thread where anyone was looking for your sympathy. Cydney stated her reasons for making the decision she made and those reasons are reasonable and make business sense. Seems to me you are the one whining because her opinion of the value of advertising on terb is different than yours. Suck it up and agree to disagree.

Don't put that on me. I have no PM space because I am no longer an advertiser. I posted that in the thread about the client and it was deleted. I did my part, so back off little one cause I am not in mood for your righteous crap. BTW, I am sure you have heard of a little thing called EMAIL!

Your ads rates were not raised, so you can stop bitching yourself. It is your choice to only see one person per day. If you can't come up with money, that is your problem. I can come up with money, I am choosing not too. TERB has $300 of my money right now that I have asked to be returned. It is not about the money as I have said, but you will pick and choose what you read. So again and for the last time - I never said I was quitting TERB. Just that right now we are choosing not to advertise anymore for the reason already stated.

Like dirk said, you can be a better woman then you are being and just agree to disagree. TERB is your bread and butter, not ours.
