GALVESTON, Texas -- An Arkansas man who claims he was insane when he placed his 2-month-old daughter in a microwave oven only put her there to protect her from his psychotic episode and hallucinations, his attorney told jurors Thursday.

Joshua Mauldin, 20, is charged with felony injury to a child, accused of putting daughter Ana in a Galveston hotel microwave and turning it on for 10 to 20 seconds. He is also accused of punching the baby and putting her in a refrigerator and a hotel-room safe.

B.T.W. 30 seconds in a microwave is fatal.

Poor child I hope she recovers well and has a much better life after this.

I do often wonder about all these people committing different acts. It seems they are either on add drugs or anti depressant drugs.

Either way it seems he knew what he was doing and is trying to hide that fact.
