Dad bod isn't an obese, obnoxious dude, but an average Joe with some body fat.

I dunno. I can see how most girls/women would want a dad bod over a fit hunk.

Since most are looking for relationships, I'd say comfort is paramount. As some ladies already mentioned, being with a fit fella makes them self conscious of own bodies even if guy's personality and manners are great.

I'd say similar approach applies to most guys as well. Sure I'd like to shag a princess, but to live with one is another story. Hot girls usually tend to be more high maintenance and demand a certain lifestyle.

Sure Ferrari or Lambo are nice, but it's not an everyday vehicle. I'd rather have a luxury SUV as a daily driver. 😉
Funny big boobs are like that. Just too many stares too many blokes making comments when i wasnt around and if you step out to the loo for a minute and come back you gotta shoo away the gawkers.

A couple thoughts on this.
1.What the media has popularized as “dad bod” is often celebs who a) were previously shredded, but “let themselves go” to the point where they are still in very good shape, muscular and reasonably proportionate, but have allowed their % body fat to increase so that not every muscle fibre is visible. Or, god forbid, let their chests and abs go unwaxed. (Eg Hugh Jackman, Chris Hemsworth, Etc).
2. many of these celebs are attractive to women facially, or are attractive otherwise, eg sense of humour.
3. Women are on average less superficial than us guys. They are more interested in a guy who is a decent human than a perfect physical specimen.
4. a perfect shredded body requires a huge amount of time, commitment and self involvement that may be unattractive in a partner.

Personally I’ve probably always had some variation of a dad bod, except for a few times where I’d done tons of training for some endurance type athletic event, where I shed most of my excess body fat. Over the last decade and a half, my weight has varied probably 25-30 lb (about 15%, BMI range between 24-29). I’ve not noticed a huge difference in the interest in my physique from women in my life through those changes, FWIW.

Well, I'm a dad in my 50s and have a six pack... That means I'm out the game? Lol

A skinny guy with a six pack is like a fat chick with big tits. Context matters.
