I would have loved to fuck her in her prime, that wholesome girl-next-door image is very attractive. Then she turned into an awesome milf!

This topped the charts for her and Les Brown's orchestra back in 1945.

A number of veterans I've heard say that the beach scene at the beginning of Saving Private Ryan was so accurate that they had to stop watching it. I can fully understand why! That said it was set at Omaha Beach, generally regarded as having been the bloodiest of the five.

Then do them a favor and stop glorifying any war.

There is an important and huge difference between saying a war is in the national interest, and saying that war is a wonderful thing.
You never heard about a war, you did not like. Probably because you never were in any.

Most ironically for a Dane, you seem to fall into the trap that "real service" is only combat service. Yet not all serve in wartime, further without branches such as supply and intelligence where would we be?

The crew of the USS Reluctant (AK-601) of the famous movie Mr. Roberts were as much active duty sailors of the United States Navy, and every bit as important as men who served aboard Cruisers.

Churchill was haunted by memories of Gallipoli the night before and did not sleep. He was bound to the shitter for most of D-Day.

The Canadians had the toughest assignment, take Juno Beach. Among the obstacles they face was a sheer bluff that they had to rappel to take out German defenses.

Think about it...If you were 18 on d-day you are 94 today. I remember WWII vets growing up, including uncles, including some who died in the war. Lot of those blokes were fucked up royally, but as was the custom back in the 70s, no one complained. But every so often a vet would blow his brains out, or some who spend all their time in the pub, or couldn't hold a job or family. Nowadays we see it clearly as ptsd, but back then, it was more hidden and if spoken about only in hushed tones. Anyhow, bless all of them from all the allied armies who fought and ended fascism and genocide, at least for a while.

"The Allied deception strategy for D-Day was one of the most successful ever conceived. The Germans overestimated the strength of Allied forces in Britain, particularly in the south-east, and believed as late as July 1944 that a larger second invasion would land in the area around Calais."

The Patton ruse worked. German forces were concentrated around Calais. Also, the allies had total command of the sky.

My dad was royally fucked in the head. The only reason he survived WW II, he was a very talented mechanic. The Germans forgot to bring mechanics into North Africa, the Italians had to fix their tanks. He became a talented millwright, Canada had a shortage of them and he got a job offer to come to Toronto. I'm still using the coffee pot he made when we still lived in Italy. It still works fine and makes better espresso than any of the overpriced pots on the market today.
