Oh well, they have no one to blame but themselves. They can look back to the Buffalo game when they blew it leading 4-1 in the 3rd period. Not to even get at least 1pt in that game proved to be there downfall.

They suck, and it does not look like it's getting any better for them next year.

The 5-2 loss to the Islanders last week would be the best example of how the Leafs blew it.
At least we won't see them get demolished by the Sabres.

I doubt Brodeur would have lost that shootout.
It will be interesting to see if Dubielwicz (28 years old, 16 career NHL games) can continue his amazing run into the playoffs.

Why year after year Torontians support the Leafs (proven losers)?

Is there some sort of masochistic cult I don't know about.

Do Torontians enjoy being tagged as losers?

We live in Toronto. The winters are long, dreary and depressing. Everyone needs a distraction. If you could afford to fly us all south for the winter, we promise we won't support the Leafs.

Throwing money at the Leafs is akin to still buying Enron stock. Not logical.

if it wasnt for Giuseppe and Vito in Woodbridge along with the TO media, this joke of an organization would be relegated to the likes of the Devil Rays, the LA Clippers and the Cincinnati Bengals completely irrelevant in the world of pro sports

They're called the TORONTO maple leafs, so I think most of toronto are fans along with plenty on the east and west coasts of Canada. Just an observation.

We think it's unconditional love but we're actually enablers of mediocrity :( .

Fuck the Maple Leafs

The only way I would ever be a Leaf fan would be if they dug up the carcass of Harold Ballard and pummled it at centre ice like a pinata at Dora the Explorer's birthday party. Boots could monkey fuck Raycroft in the left ear while he was at it!

Forty years at producing a pathetic product that fans can't get enough of. They should tar and feather the lot of 'em and make them run down Front Street naked with their golf clubs on their backs!

I will forever love the Toronto Maple Leafs and bleed blue and white, but... as a friend of mine said, instead of having the moto of "The passion that unites us all", we should seriously have "There is always next year!!!" PLEASE TELL ME THAT NOW THE LEAFS ARE OUT AGAIN, THAT THE LEAFS WILL FIRE JFJ!!!

Yea, I would say they need to get a new GM.
The problem for the board of MLSE is that it's hard to fire JFJ because he seems to work so hard.

But , the problem with Ferguson is he seems to lack a feel or instincts for the game. All the little tinkering Ferguson has done has added up to pretty much nothing. It seems like all the new guys he brings in add nothing positive to the team mix.

Compare Ferguson tinkering with Colangelo tinkering and the difference between the teams is like night and day. Colangelo is routinely able to trade away non productive fringe players and get something positive in return.

When the Jays won the two World Series titles the most valuable guy on the team was the architect who put all the pieces together, Pat Gillick.
I don't know who he is; but, I want a Pat Gillick of the hockey world running the Leafs.

The good news for Leafs fans is they can focus their attention on the Raptors. That team is a million times more fun to follow.

Maybe over the last 20 games, they should have not spent so much time trying to spoonfeed Sundin in hopes that he would score THE GOAL. Hell, Sundin could not even score into the empty Habs net on Saturday evening.

Give Colangelo a shot a running both MLSE teams. He may not know hockey, but he would certainly get the right people who do know what to do for damn sure.

I'm just kidding.............or am I?
