Cuba Trip. Need some info.

I am going to Cuba next week and need some info on the currency exchange. I haven't been down in a few years, and used to take U.S. dollars with me then.
Since the new convertible Cuban peso came out, is it okay to just take Canadian Cash down and exchange it at the hotels? If not, any recommendations?

I was in Cuba last year and just took canadian cash with me. You can exchange canadian money at the banks and resorts for cuban convertable pesos. The exchange is roughly the same as exchanging canadian for american. They accept credit cards although not american express as well.

Just take Canadian money. You can exchange it at the airport when you arrive or at the hotel. Exchange rate is pretty much the same. If you use US dollars they will charge you a 10% premium.

I was in Cuba twice this year, you can exchange it at the airport or there are several edxchange places around Cuba. Be careful in Havana, the exchange place there had a scam going. I didn't think the amount was right ( the rate is 1.2789 or something) and asked to see the receipt. Suddenly the woman there starts giving me more pesos and then the receipt. She was short changing me, unless I said anything. A lot of people pulling scams like that for small amounts in Cuba.

I am going to St Lucia, out of Camaguey airport. I have been there several times and expect it to be pretty quiet at this time of year.
