Yes, I can. Other than being too lazy to do research on the successful long-term Alpha and Beta history of managers, why would anyone just toss a dart at an index with no fundamental analysis? I can answer this question. Because there are many competing arbitrage traders (who provide liquidity) and speculators (who do the fundamental analysis), and, as a result, your own fundamental analysis (if you take into account the selection bias in your data collection/analysis) will have very little affect on your buying decision. You studied too much of Accounting and two little of Finance.

I don't see how it could go below zero.
(I don't expect it to ever get there, especially bitcoin. There will always be some people who want it.)
