Pretty Ballsy, no. I know exactly what I am talking about. I probably do more cross border shopping than most people here. I am in the USA 1-2 times per week.

For you to say "everything" is about 50% cheaper there is just a stupid comment to make as it is not true at all
Yet you asked me to provide examples on "everything". I called your bluff bro, just admit it. Now you're going to take what I said out of context. I'm calling it.

oh wait? are you only hobbying when you go to the US? that might explain why you don't find everything cheaper there lolololololllllll

Some things you can get in US but not here.
How's your lawn? Can't get weed killer here, lots there.
How's your auto A/C? Can't get 134a here, they sell it at Walmart over there.

It's not just price but availability.
I once needed a drive axle for my oddball car. Dealer item only.
$290, 3-5 weeks delivery here.
$85 US instock item in Buffalo.

Guess where I spent my money?

If you're in the US then sure, buy some booze. But so what, you saved $60 on the Chivas. How much does two trips to the US cost in gas? Savings $0.00.
You have to be away for 48 hrs. before you can bring booze back.

I usually go on the week days, have an early lunch and get to the border at about noon. Shop on the other side for the rest of the day.
see the sights and shop a little the next day, and on the third day shop your way back to Canada and return at noon or soon after.

48 hr. trip, 2 bottles of booze and $1600 of goods at about 33-50% off. ( it is even better if you buy items on special - check flyers online before you cross the border )

When you get to the border, have all your goods with the receipts taped to the goods. I get waved through after a 3-5 minute inspection.

Nice if you can go during the week but most can't.

i cross borders every week. coming and going and hit the busiest borders at the busiest times and never once had to wait an hour.
If you do so every week, you probably have a nexus card and that is a different kettle of fish. I would be tempted to get one, but the local crossing doesn't have a lane. I did see going from the I87 to the 15 that there was no line at the nexus line but a bit of a one for the rest of the peons. I've never waited an hour but I don't cross over west of Lake Ontario so that does not mean much.

I have a Nexus card. That is why I get waved through quickly. In places that do not have a Nexus lane, you will still get speedier treatment than others people. Simon goes through the commercial truck lane.
