Criteria for getting a letter?

Hi all. Just wondering about receiving letters from LE regarding picking up a prostitute.

Took a trip to Vanier the other day, felt I was pretty inconspicuous and picked up a girl on a side street (parking lot to be more precise) of Montreal Rd.

Pretty sure I wasn't spotted but you never know. To send a letter to your home are you first talked to by a cop, or do they just have to see you pick a girl up? Or can they send one if they are only suspicious of you?

How worried should I be in terms of getting a letter?

Sorry for all the questions. Next time I'll play it smart and pay the bit extra for an escort. The worry sure is not worth it.

To be honest, I'm not sure what the new policies are. I would tend to think they'd probably stop you first, but I could be way off.

I think that last statement of yours is probably the best way to go for so many reasons.

You shouldn't be worried. No police knows who you are unless you've shown them ID, they don't know who the lady you picked up is unless she has shown them ID, and they have no idea what if anything you have done together. It is not illegal to pick up a person of either sex and give them a ride somewhere.
But if you're that worried, you should go to a reputable incall service provider who has been reviewed positively here on Terb, then just relax and have a good time.

i understood it as they after actually stopping you and being sure you have known sw in car with you, the old telling her to get out and for you to leave area, and the le gives you the verbal warnings, they can then choose to mail you a letter reconfirming to you that you were in known sw area and what ramifications can take place if caught

i also understand that they can not just go by license plate etc....they must ID you by drivers license
also heard of legal challenges to this idea, thinking they had planned to go just by licences plate, but backed off, maybe someone got a letter and can share more, pm if need be

anyway the scene seems kinda dead lately anyway, lots of sweeps in all areas , all the time, and i think the weather keeps them indoors more

It tells them who the license plate is registered to, not who is driving the car.

Starting next week, a special "community safety letter" will be mailed to the residence of any driver who is stopped by police while talking to prostitutes in certain Ottawa neighbourhoods, Ottawa police announced Tuesday.
