Not sure if I have the will to overcome phobia of eating insects. But this is good news.

I bought a package of salt and vinegar crickets recently but haven't tried them yet.
So far they're a novelty. Wagyu beef is a bargain in comparison.

PS. Just tried one. Tasted like a salt and vinegar chip like I expected. Not a good representation. Have to find the real deal to make a judgment.

I was at a Mexican restaurant somewhat locally and saw cricket (as in whole crickets not flour) tacos on the menu, I later saw them when I was in mexico too. So enough people must be eating it to offer it on the menu. I'm an adventurous eater and love trying new things but I haven't built up the nerve yet to try them. Being in flour form might be easier to get into it or at least past the mental hurdle, but I don't know.

As an aside, I wonder why we think eating insects is gross. The ones we would eat anyway are clean, super nutritious, cheap source of high quality protein, solve all kinds of space and environmental issues farming them, and apparently taste pretty good. So much going for them but I just can't get my head around it.

I've had cricket tacos and they were actually pretty good. And, yes, insects are a cheap source of protein. Many countries/cultures eat insects so I don't see the big deal.

If you eat lobster you're essentially eating a large insect.
